Fred Wudl
Fred Wudl is an American materials scientist, academic researcher. He is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Materials Engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Wudl has published over 500 papers and has 20 patents awarded. He is known for his work on organic conductors and super-conductors with the discovery of the electronic conductivity of the precursor to the first organic metal and superconductor. He leads research aimed at optical and electrooptical properties of processable conjugated polymers, as well as on the organic chemistry of fullerenes and the design and preparation of self-mending and selfhealing materials. Sir James Fraser Stoddart (born 24 May 1942) is a British-American chemist who is Board of Trustees Professor of Chemistry and head of the Stoddart Mechanostereochemistry Group in the Department of Chemistry at Northwestern University in the United States.
