Fred Raymond
Fred Raymond aka Raimund Friedrich Vesely (20 April 1900 – 10 January 1954) was an Austrian composer. Raymond, born in Vienna, was the third child (after two daughters) of Vinzenz Vesely, an employee of the Austrian state railway system, and his wife Henriette, née Dluhos. Both parents were of Czech descent. They intended their son to study mining after high school, and pursure a career in the civil service. After the premature death of both his parents, Raymond studied at a commercial academy and trained as a banker. Raymond composed operetta music as well as copious pieces for films and Schlager, which were very successful in the 1920s and 1930s and were commonly heard being sung and whistled in the streets. Max Mack (1884–1973) was a German screenwriter, film producer and director during the silent era. He is particularly known for his 1913 film ''The Other''. He directed, and co-starred in, an early film adaptation of ''Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde'' in 1914, called ''Ein Seltsamer Fall'', written by Richard Oswald. Ernst Neubach
Ernst Neubach (3 January 1900 – 21 May 1968) was an Austrian screenwriter, producer and director. Biography Of Jewish descent, Neubach was a veteran of World War I, after which he worked as a master of ceremonies in Austria, Switzerland and Germany. He wrote lyrics for songs and over 2,000 hits, including ''I've lost my heart in Heidelberg'' (1925) and '' In Heaven There Is No Beer'' (1956). Successful operetta librettos include ''Gentleman Jack'' (Music: Carita by Horst). With the dawn of the talkie era, he began to write screenplays for musical comedies. Paul Martin (8 February 1899 – 26 January 1967) was a Hungarian film director and screenwriter who worked for many years in the German film industry. He directed 60 films between 1932 and 1967. He was romantically involved with the film star Lilian Harvey and directed her in a number of films until he left her in 1938 for the actress Frauke Lauterbach.
