Fred McCrary
Freddy Demetrius McCrary (born September 19, 1972) is an American former professional football player who was a fullback in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs and was selected in the sixth round of the 1995 NFL draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. From 1995 to 2007, McCrary played for the Eagles and five other teams, including the 2003 New England Patriots Super Bowl XXXVIII championship team that beat the Carolina Panthers. Early years McCrary attended Naples High School in Naples, Florida, and lettered in football, basketball, and track. As a senior, he rushed for more than 1,200 yards and was named the school's Athlete of the Year in 1991. In American football, the specific role that a player takes on the field is referred to as their "position". Under the modern rules of American football, both teams are allowed 11 players on the field at one time and have "unlimited free substitutions", meaning that they may change any number of players during any "dead ball" situation.
