Frederic Wood Barnes Jr. (born February 1, 1943) is an American political commentator. He was the executive editor of the defunct news publication ''The Weekly Standard'' and regularly appears on the Fox News Channel program ''Special Report with Bret Baier''. He was previously co-host of '' The Beltway Boys'' with Mort Kondracke, which previously aired on the Fox News Channel. Barnes remains a prolific writer on presidential and many other political topics as well. Early life and education Barnes was born in West Point, New York. He earned a B.A. degree from the University of Virginia in 1965. Fred Barnes (performer)
Frederick Jester Barnes (31 May 1885 – 23 October 1938) was an English music hall singer known for his signature song, "The Black Sheep of the Family", which he first performed in 1907. Although popular on stage, Barnes became infamous for his erratic private life and was often named in frequent controversies reported by the press. Openly gay, Barnes retired to Southend-on-Sea and performed in seaside pubs, notably The Cricketers Hotel, Westcliff-on-Sea. Suffering from terminal tuberculosis and alcoholism, Barnes died from coal gas poisoning at the age of 53. Frederic Gorell Barnes
Sir Frederic Gorell Barnes, JP, DL, FRGS (1856 – 17 March 1939) was a British barrister and politician. A first cousin of the judge Lord Gorell, he was born in Mossley Hill, Barnes was educated at the Royal Institution of Liverpool and Jesus College, Cambridge. He was called to the bar at the Inner Temple in 1885 and joined the Northern Circuit. He also became a Justice of the Peace, a deputy lieutenant of Kent, and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. Barnes stood unsuccessfully for the Conservative Party in North East Derbyshire at the 1892 UK general election, then won Faversham at the 1895 UK general election. He did not contest any seat at the 1900 UK general election, but stood unsuccessfully in Northampton at the 1906 and January 1910 general elections. Barnes was awarded a knighthood in 1916, and from 1917 to 1921 worked for the Ministry of Food. Frederick Barnes (1814–1898) was a British architect who is best remembered for his work on railway stations in East Anglia. Early life Frederick (sometimes Frederic) Barnes was born in the London Borough of Hackney in 1814, although the exact date is uncertain. Barnes attended Christ's Hospital which was located at Hertford at the time and his father was a teacher at the school. After leaving school he worked in London and was articled to a prominent London architect Sydney Smirke. After that Barnes worked in Liverpool for several years. Career Barnes moved to Ipswich in 1843 to assist his friend, locally-based architect John Medland Clark (1813–1849) on the construction of new Custom House building located in the Ipswich Docks. Air Vice Marshal Frederick William Barnes, (19 November 1924 – 4 August 2018) was an Australian pilot and senior Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) officer. Having flown in the Second World War and the Korea War, he rose to become Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (1979–1981). For his service in Korea, Barnes was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) and the United States Air Medal.
