Freak Out! (Teenage Bottlerocket Album)
''Freak Out!'' is the fifth album by Teenage Bottlerocket. It was released on July 3, 2012 on Fat Wreck Chords. The band began work on the album in February 2012 at The Blasting Room with engineer Andrew Berlin, who also co-produced the album with the band, and finished in April. Two of the songs, "Mutilate Me" and "Punk House of Horror", were previously released on the 2011 "'Mutilate Me" EP. Another song, "Headbanger", was previously recorded by Sack, a band which featured TBR members Kody Templeman, Ray Carlisle and Brandon Carlisle. The band shot a music video for "Headbanger". ''Alternative Press'' is an American entertainment magazine primarily focused on music and culture, now based in Los Angeles, CA. It generally provides readers with band interviews, photos, and relevant news. It was founded in 1985 by Mike Shea in Cleveland, OH. The company is now looked after by MDDN. Beginnings The first issue of ''Alternative Press'' was distributed at concerts in Cleveland, Ohio beginning in June 1985 by ''APs founder, Mike Shea to advocate bands playing underground music. The name for the magazine, ''Alternative Press'', was not a reference to the alternative rock genre, but referred to the fanzine being an alternative to the local press. Mastering, a form of audio post production, is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to a data storage device (the master), the source from which all copies will be produced (via methods such as pressing, duplication or replication). Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses. The Blasting Room
The Blasting Room is a recording studio in Fort Collins, Colorado. Founded by members of the punk rock band All in 1994, it is owned and operated by musician Bill Stevenson (Descendents, Black Flag, All, Only Crime) and Jason Livermore. The studio is known for recording and producing many punk rock bands, with Stevenson and Livermore serving as in-house audio engineers and record producers. In July 1994, the members of All relocated from Brookfield, Missouri to Fort Collins. Using money from their recent recording contract with Interscope Records, they designed and began construction of The Blasting Room with the help of guitarist Stephen Egerton's father, Dan O' Reilly. Teenage Bottlerocket
Teenage Bottlerocket is an American punk rock band formed in Laramie, Wyoming in 2000. The band was formed by twin brothers Ray and Brandon Carlisle, following the dissolution of their previous band, Homeless Wonders. The band's music is heavily influenced by guitarist and co-vocalist Kody Templeman's other band, The Lillingtons, and punk rock acts such as Ramones, Screeching Weasel, Green Day, The Bouncing Souls, and Misfits; Their music has been referred to as "Ramones-core", "Weasel-core" and "leather jacket punk". In a 2006 interview with the band, Punknews described Teenage Bottlerocket as "the last decent band around playing Ramones-y pop punk", stating that Teenage Bottlerocket "certainly owe nothing to the trends" and naming the band "the best punk band from the Cowboy State since The Lillingtons". American Deutsch Bag is an EP by Teenage Bottlerocket. It was released on November 26, 2013 on Fat Wreck Chords. It was recorded at The Blasting Room with Andrew Berlin.
