François Villeroy de Galhau (born 24 February 1959) is a French civil servant and banker serving as Governor of the Bank of France and ''ex officio'' President of the French Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority since 2015. The Governor of the Bank of France ( French: ''Gouverneur de la Banque de France'') is the most senior officer of the Bank of France. The position is currently held by François Villeroy de Galhau, who took office on 1 November 2015. Duties and responsibilities Assisted by two Deputy Governors and independent with regard to political authorities, the Governor administers the Banque de France in pursuit of its three core missions: monetary strategy, financial stability and services to the economy. Pierre Bérégovoy
Pierre Eugène Bérégovoy (; 23 December 1925 – 1 May 1993) was a French politician who served as Prime Minister of France under President François Mitterrand from 2 April 1992 to 29 March 1993. He was a member of the Socialist Party and Member of Parliament for Nièvre's 1st constituency. Early career Pierre Bérégovoy was born in Déville-lès-Rouen to a French mother and a Ukrainian father (original family name ''Береговий'' in Ukrainian or ''Береговой'' in Russian) who had left the Russian Empire after the Russian Civil War.
