François Lionet
François Lionet is a French programmer, best known for having written STOS BASIC on the Atari ST and AMOS BASIC on the Amiga (along with Constantin Sotiropoulos). He has also written several games on these platforms. In 1994, he founded Clickteam with Yves Lamoureux, producing the Klik series of games-creation tools, including Multimedia Fusion. Amiga People
Amiga is a family of personal computers introduced by Commodore in 1985. The original model is one of a number of mid-1980s computers with 16- or 32-bit processors, 256 KB or more of RAM, mouse-based GUIs, and significantly improved graphics and audio compared to previous 8-bit systems. This includes the Atari ST—released earlier the same year—as well as the Macintosh and Acorn Archimedes. Based on the Motorola 68000 microprocessor, the Amiga differs from its contemporaries through the inclusion of custom hardware to accelerate graphics and sound, including sprites and a blitter, and a pre-emptive multitasking operating system called AmigaOS. Captain Blood (video Game)
''Captain Blood'' (''L'Arche du Captain Blood'' in France) is a French video game made by ERE Informatique (soon relabeled with their short-lived ''Exxos'' label) and released by Infogrames in 1988. It was later re-released in the UK by Players Premier Software. The game was first released on the Atari ST, and was later for the Commodore 64, Macintosh, Amiga, Apple IIGS, IBM PC, ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, and Thomson TO8 / MO6. The ST version is the only version that includes the full set of alien language sounds. The title tune is a stripped down version of "Ethnicolor" by Jean-Michel Jarre. Plot The titular character of the game is a 1980s video game designer, Bob Morlock, who had picked "Captain Blood" as a nickname in tribute to the film starring Errol Flynn of the same name. AMOS BASIC is a dialect of the BASIC programming language for the Amiga computer. Following on from the successful STOS BASIC for the Atari ST, AMOS BASIC was written for the Amiga by François Lionet with Constantin Sotiropoulos and published by Europress Software in 1990. It was designed for creating games, but the set of high-level graphics and sound commands it offers is suitable for developing multimedia software without knowledge of the internals of the Atari ST.
