Frankenburg Am Hausruck
Frankenburg am Hausruck (Central Bavarian: ''Fraungabuag'') is a municipality in the district of Vöcklabruck in the Austrian state of Upper Austria. History Frankenburg was part of the Roman province Noricum since the year 16 AD. Around 600, Bavarians migrated from the area of Franken and cleared the area in the Hausruck. Around 1100, Rapoto von Julbach built the Frankenburg on the Hofberg, which gave it its name. Since the 12th century the village belonged to the Duchy of Austria. Since 1490 it has been assigned to the principality of Upper Austria. Hans von Khevenhüller-Frankenburg bought Kammer Castle from Emperor Rudolf II in 1581, as well as the dominions of Kogl Castle (where the Khevenhüllers built Kogl Castle in 1750) and Frankenburg with Frein Castle, which were united to form the "County of Frankenburg". Frankenburg (Palatinate)
The Frankenburg is a natural monument with the ruins of a rock castle in the county of Südliche Weinstraße in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It lies above the Modenbach valley on a rocky outcrop of the ''Frankenberg'' called the ''Frankenfelsen'' and was built to guard the road opposite Meistersel Castle. Today, all that remains of the Frankenburg are a few wall remnants and manmade traces on the rock. The rocky outcrop on the Frankenberg lies at a height of 545 metres above sea level. Lilienthal, Lower Saxony
Lilienthal is a municipality in the administrative district of Osterholz, Lower Saxony, Germany. It borders Bremen (Free Hanseatic City of Bremen). History Lilienthal belonged to the Prince-Archbishopric of Bremen. Lilienthal monastery The history of the small town (without Town privileges) of Lilienthal goes back to its founding as a nunnery by the prince-archbishop Gerhard II. During the 15th century, the cloister enjoyed a time of prosperity. The Frankenberg Castle (in German, ''Burg Frankenberg'', and sometimes spelled ''Frankenburg'') is a castle in the Frankenberg area of Aachen-Mitte, itself a district of Aachen, Germany. Its name comes from the concept of a “Franke”, which was a type of castle that did not owe fealty to any others. Bad Frankenhausen (officially: Bad Frankenhausen/Kyffhäuser) is a spa town in the German state of Thuringia. It is located at the southern slope of the Kyffhäuser mountain range, on an artificial arm of the Wipper river, a tributary of the Unstrut.
