Franken-Castle
''Punisher'', retitled ''Franken-Castle'' from issue #17 on, is a Marvel Comics comic book series featuring the character Frank Castle, also known as the Punisher. Spinning out of the second ''Punisher War Journal'' series by writer Matt Fraction, this series of ''Punisher'' places the character firmly in the ongoing Marvel Universe inhabited by superheroes such as the Avengers and Spider-Man, and super-villains such as Doctor Doom and the Masters of Evil. For the majority of issues released, the series had tied into the ongoing events of Marvel's line-wide " Dark Reign" storyline, opening with Castle attempting to assassinate Norman Osborn. After the events of "Dark Reign", Castle was dismembered and killed by Wolverine's son, Daken, and reassembled as a Frankenstein monster by Morbius and the Legion of Monsters. Daken
Daken (; birth name: Akihiro) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Daken was created by writer Daniel Way and artist Steve Dillon and first appeared in '' Wolverine: Origins'' #10 (March 2007). Daken is the mutant son of Wolverine and his deceased wife Itsu, possessing superhuman abilities similar to his father (e.g., healing factor, retractable claws) as well as pheromone manipulating powers. Blaming his father for his supposed abandonment, his mother's death and traumatic childhood, Daken sought revenge against Wolverine. Daken was a member of the Dark Avengers under his father's moniker Wolverine, the Brotherhood of Mutants and at one point was a Horseman of Death. The Punisher (Francis "Frank" Castle, born Castiglione) is an antihero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by writer Gerry Conway and artists John Romita Sr. and Ross Andru. The Punisher made his first appearance in ''The Amazing Spider-Man'' #129 (cover-dated February 1974), originally depicted as an assassin and adversary of the superhero Spider-Man. Rick Remender (born February 6, 1973) is an American animator, comic book writer and television producer who resides in Los Angeles, California. As a comic book creator, he is best known for his work on ''Uncanny X-Force'', ''Venom'', ''Captain America'' and ''Uncanny Avengers'', published by Marvel, as well as his creator-owned series ''Fear Agent'', ''Deadly Class'', '' Black Science'' and '' Low'', published by Image. In video games, he wrote EA's ''Dead Space'' and Epic Games' ''Bulletstorm''. In 2019, Sony Pictures Television adapted ''Deadly Class'' into a television series of the same name, for which Remender served as a showrunner and lead writer. ''Dark Avengers'' is a 2009–2013 American comic book series published by Marvel Comics. It is part of a series of titles that features various iterations of the superhero team the Avengers, with this version of the team - unbeknownst to the public in its stories - having several members who are actually supervillains and anti-heroes disguised as the established superheroes.
