Frank Van Hattum
Francesco van Hattum (born 17 November 1958 in New Plymouth) is a former New Zealand football player who was a goalkeeper during the country's first World Cup finals tournament in 1982. His international career started in 1980, and he played a total of 41 times for his country including unofficial matches. Career Van Hattum made his official All Whites debut in a 2–0 win over Fiji on 21 February 1980 and ended his international playing career with 28 A-international caps to his credit, his final cap an appearance in a 1–2 loss to Australia on 2 November 1986. Controversially, van Hattum replaced Richard Wilson as goalkeeper for all three games at the finals tournament in Spain despite Wilson's having played in all fifteen of New Zealand's qualifying matches. In many team sports which involve scoring goals, the goalkeeper (sometimes termed goaltender, netminder, GK, goalie or keeper) is a designated player charged with directly preventing the opposing team from scoring by blocking or intercepting opposing shots on goal. Mark Bosnich
Mark John Bosnich (born 13 January 1972) is an Australian former professional footballer, who played as a goalkeeper, and sports pundit. He played in England for Premier League clubs Aston Villa, Manchester United and Chelsea. He also played in Australia for Sydney United, Central Coast Mariners and Sydney Olympic, as well as representing Australia 17 times during his career, scoring one goal for his nation. He was a co-host of '' Bill & Boz'' on Fox Sports News. Manchester United brought Bosnich to England in 1989, but a lack of first-team opportunities and a failed attempt to secure a work visa, saw him return to Australia. A year later, Aston Villa brought him back to England and he established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League during the 1990s. Chatham Cup
The Chatham Cup is New Zealand's premier knockout tournament in men's association football. It is held annually, with the final contested in September. The current champions of the Chatham Cup are 2022 winners Auckland City, who defeated Eastern Suburbs 1–0 in the final. History The Chatham Cup is contested by teams from throughout New Zealand, and has been held annually since 1923 with the exception of 1937 and 1941–44. Typically between 120 and 150 teams take part, with extra time and penalty shoot-outs used to decide matches which end in ties. In the past, replays were used, and in the early years of the competition the number of corners won during a game decided tied matches. Stella Pennell
Stella Pennell (born 11 June 1965 as Stella-Maria van Hattum) represented New Zealand in Karate as Stella Lenihan from 1992 to 1996. Karate career Pennell was Oceania Champion, New Zealand Champion, New South Wales (Australia) champion. She was a repecharge finalist at World Karate Federation World Cup and World Championship. Pennell retired from competition in 1996 and commenced coaching New Zealand Women's Team. A recipient of Prime Minister's scholarship, she coached Krissie Paige to a silver medal at Junior World Championships in Greece 2001. She won the Upper Hutt Sportsperson of the Year award in the category of Coach of the Year and Special Achievement Award (2003) and won the Coach of the Year award again in 2004. Oskar Van Hattum
Oskar van Hattum (born 14 April 2002) is a New Zealand professional footballer who plays as a forward for Wellington Phoenix. Club career Youth career Van Hattum played football for Francis Douglas Memorial College in New Plymouth, and played representative football for Taranaki and Central Football with whom he won the golden boot at the under-14 national age group tournament in 2016. In 2017, van Hattum moved to Wellington to join the Wellington Phoenix Academy.
