Frank Moore (1828–1904) was an American journalist and compiler, a brother of George Henry Moore. He was born in Concord, New Hampshire, but removed to New York City and became a journalist and general writer. In 1869-72 he was Assistant Secretary of Legation in Paris. Frank Moore Cross Jr. (1921–2012) was the Hancock Professor of Hebrew and Other Oriental Languages Emeritus at Harvard University, notable for his work in the interpretation of the Dead Sea Scrolls, his 1973 ''magnum opus'' ''Canaanite Myth and Hebrew Epic'', and his work in Northwest Semitic epigraphy. Frank Moore Colby (February 10, 1865 – March 3, 1925) was an American educator and writer. Biography He was born in Washington, D. C. He graduated from Columbia University in 1888, was acting professor of history at Amherst College in 1890-91, lecturer on history at Columbia and instructor in history and economics at Barnard College from 1891 to 1895, and professor of economics at New York University thereafter until 1900. Between 1893 and 1895 he was a member of the editorial staff of ''Johnson's Universal Cyclopaedia'' in the department of history and political science, and in 1898 he became editor of the ''International Year Book'' and one of the editors of the '' International Cyclopedia'' (1884). Second Lieutenant Frank Murchison Moore (4 July 1894 - 2 September 1918) was an officer with the United States Army Air Service during the Great War. He was killed in action in the waning months of that conflict. Moore Air Force Base, northwest of Mission, Texas, was named in his honor. Background Moore was a native of Houston, Texas, the son of Benjamin Franklin Moore and Eula Moore. He attended Washington & Lee University from 1912 to 1916. Service Moore joined the Army Air Service in 1917 as part of the Officers Reserve Corps. He served as an artillery observer with 7th Field Artillery, flying with 88th Aero Squadron, under the 26th Division. Missions assigned the 88th involved: short-range visual reconnaissance, short-range photographic, adjustment of light artillery fire, and infantry contact probes. Political activity Born in Porirua near Wellington, New Zealand on 19 May 1867, Moore was Secretary of the Meat Trade Workers' Federation that was destroyed in the 1890 strike. He was appointed manager of the Wellington Meat Export Company at Ngauranga in 1892 and was an active supporter of the Liberal Party during the 1890s. In 1901, Moore was employed by Premier Richard Seddon to prepare a report on the freezing industry for the New Zealand Government. Frank James Moore (June 25, 1946 – October 14, 2013) was an American performance artist, shaman, poet, essayist, painter, musician and Internet/television personality who experimented in art, performance, ritual, and shamanistic teaching since the late 1960s. Moore was one of the NEA-funded artists targeted by Jesse Helms and the GAO (General Accounting Office) in the early 1990s for creating art that was labeled "obscene". He was featured in the 1988 cult film ''Mondo New York'', which chronicled the leading performance artists of that period.
