Frank McCormack (cyclist)
Frank McCormack (born May 28, 1969, in Plymouth, Massachusetts) is an American former cyclist. His younger brother Mark was also a professional cyclist. Plymouth, Massachusetts
Plymouth (; historically known as Plimouth and Plimoth) is a town in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, United States. Located in Greater Boston, the town holds a place of great prominence in American history, folklore, and culture, and is known as "America's Hometown". Plymouth was the site of the colony founded in 1620 by the ''Mayflower'' Pilgrims, where New England was first established. The International Cycling Classic, also known as Superweek, was a stage race, multi-day cycling race held around Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Nature Valley Grand Prix
The North Star Grand Prix is a men's and women's road bicycle racing stage race held each June in Minnesota, United States, as part of the North Star Bicycle Festival. An event was added in North Mankato in 2016. The North Star Grand Prix is one of only four races on the USA Cycling Pro Road Tour. The 2010 Grand Prix had six stages: three criteriums, two road races and a time trial. The event was known as the Nature Valley Grand Prix until 2013, but was renamed following sponsorship changes. The North Star Bicycle Festival is run by volunteers, proceeds going to Special Olympics Minnesota. The North Star Grand Prix was cancelled in 2018, which would have been its 20th year. An attempt to bring it back in 2019 failed since it had no cash sponsors and a GoFundMe campaign raised only 6% of the needed funds. The Tour of Japan is an annual professional road bicycle racing stage race held in Japan since 1996 as part of the UCI Asia Tour. It is sanctioned by the International Cycling Union (UCI) as a 2.1 category race. History Tour of Japan was formed as the successor of the Kokusai Cycle Road Race which began in 1982. United States National Road Race Championships
The United States National Professional Road Race Championships began in 1985. They are run by the governing body, USA Cycling. Until 2006 the race was open to all nationalities, the first American to finish being named the winner and given a distinctive jersey. Since the championship in Greenville, South Carolina, in 2006, all riders have had to be American. Before 1985, only the amateur champions were named. From 1921 to 1964, the Amateur Bicycle League of America (ABLA) National Championships were held as an omnium of track-style events for Men, Women, and Juniors, rather than as a road race.
