Frank King (English Cricketer)
Frank King (6 April 1911 – 1 November 1996) was an English cricketer. King was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm fast-medium. He was born at Lewisham, London and educated at Dulwich College. King made his first-class debut for Cambridge University against Northamptonshire in 1934. He made nine further first-class appearances for the university, the last of which came against the Free Foresters in 1935. In his ten first-class appearances, he scored 68 runs at an average of 6.80, with a high score of 16 not out. With the ball, he took 22 wickets at a bowling average of 27.95, with best figures of 6/64. These figures, which were one of two five wicket hauls he took, came against Worcestershire in 1934. In 1937, King made his debut for Dorset in the Minor Counties Championship against Wiltshire. Frank King (West Indian Cricketer)
Frank McDonald King (14 December 1926 – 23 December 1990) was a West Indies cricket team, West Indian cricketer who played in 14 Test cricket, Test matches between Indian cricket team in West Indies in 1952-53, 1953 and West Indian cricket team in New Zealand in 1955-56, 1956. Born in Delamere Land, Brighton, Saint Michael Parish, Barbados, St Michael, Barbados, King was a hostile right-arm fast bowler who opened the bowling for the West Indies in three consecutive home series in the early 1950s. But he failed to build on a promising debut in the 1952–53 series against the Indian cricket team, when, with 17 wickets, he was the second highest wicket-taker after Alf Valentine. In the third Test of the series, he took 5 for 74 in India's first innings, and also broke the hand of the Indian wicketkeeper, Ebrahim Maka. Frank King (footballer)
Frank King (13 March 1917 – c. 2003) was an English football goalkeeper who played for Blyth Spartans, Everton, and Derby County in the 1930s. He played five First Division games for the "Toffees" in both 1934–35 and 1935–36, and three times in 1936–37. He kept goal in the Merseyside derby at the age of 17. However, he was unable to trouble the club's firmly established number one, Ted Sagar, and was transferred to Derby. There he picked up an injury after a challenge from Stoke City's Freddie Steele. Further injury problems forced his retirement at age 22, at which point he joined the police force. He guested for Southport during World War II. After the war he worked as a physio at Leicester City, Luton Town, and the Football Association. He died at the age of 86. Commander Frank Ragan King (October 15, 1884 – July 12, 1919) was an officer in the United States Navy who died while conducting minesweeping operations shortly after World War I. Biography Born in Montevallo, Alabama, King was appointed midshipman at the Naval Academy 6 May 1903 and graduated February 11, 1907. After serving as a passed midshipman, he was commissioned Ensign February 12, 1909. King served in ''Arkansas'', , ''Milwaukee'', ''Pennsylvania'', and ''Illinois'' before attaining the rank of Commander September 21, 1918. Comdr. Frank Oscar King (April 9, 1883 – June 24, 1969) was an American cartoonist best known for his comic strip ''Gasoline Alley''. In addition to innovations with color and page design, King introduced real-time continuity in comic strips by showing his characters aging over generations. Born in Cashton, Wisconsin, King was the older of the two sons of mechanic John J. King and his wife Caroline. When Frank was four years old, he moved with his parents to 1710 Superior Avenue in Tomah, Wisconsin, where they operated their family general store. He started drawing while growing up in Tomah, where he graduated from Tomah High School in 1901.
