Frank Ford (Australian Politician)
Frank Allen Ford (born 10 August 1936) is a former Australian businessman and politician. He represented the Liberal Party in the House of Representatives from 1990 to 1993, representing the Victorian seat of Dunkley. In 1996 he was convicted of fraud relating to the liquidation of his engineering firm. Early life Ford was born in Adelaide on 10 August 1936. He was the managing director of a rollover protection structure (ROPS) engineering firm, Safety ROPS (Aust) Pty Ltd. He served on the Victorian council of the Australian Small Business Association, including as state president for a period. Politics Ford was elected to parliament at the 1990 federal election, defeating the incumbent Australian Labor Party (ALP) member Bob Chynoweth in the Division of Dunkley. He was identified as a member of the "New Right" faction and had earlier stood for Liberal preselection in the Division of Goldstein against the incumbent MP Ian Macphee. Frank John Ford (18 March 1935 – 27 September 2018) was an Australian freelance writer, director, dramaturg and drama lecturer. Biography He studied acting, drama theory, dramaturgy, directing and cinema in his degrees: M.F.A. (Theatre Arts) from Columbia University, New York (Awarded the Richard Rodgers Scholarship); Certificate in Arts Administration, Harvard Business School; A.D.B (Associate of the Drama Board) London and B.A. University of Sydney. He was an author and director of opera, music theatre, cabaret, experimental theatre, modern and classic drama and multi-media productions. Frank Ford (broadcaster)
Frank Ford was the stage name of Edward Felbin (September 30, 1916 – March 3, 2009), a Philadelphia radio talk show host. Along with partners Lee Guber and Shelly Gross, Ford founded the Valley Forge Music Fair in 1955 and the Westbury Music Fair the following year. He served on the board of trustees for Science Service, now known as Society for Science & the Public, from 1957 to 1962. Frankie Ford (August 4, 1939 – September 28, 2015) was an American rock and roll and rhythm and blues singer, best known for his 1959 hit "Sea Cruise". Biography He was born in Gretna, Louisiana, as Vincent Francis Guzzo, across the Mississippi River from New Orleans, and was the adopted son of Vincent and Anna Guzzo, who named him Vincent Francis Guzzo, Jr. He learned to sing and dance at an early age, and when at high school joined a group, the Syncopators, as singer and pianist. He was spotted by manager Joe Caronna, who took him to Johnny Vincent of Ace Records. Taking the stage name Frankie Ford, he made his first recordings for Ace in 1958. He toured locally in Louisiana, before recording a vocal overdub on the song "Sea Cruise", a song written and originally recorded by Huey "Piano" Smith with his group, the Clowns, and featuring overdubbed bells and ships' horns. Frank Deford
Benjamin Franklin Deford III (December 16, 1938 – May 28, 2017) was an American sportswriter and novelist. From 1980 until his death in 2017, he was a regular sports commentator on NPR's ''Morning Edition'' radio program. Deford wrote for ''Sports Illustrated'' magazine from 1962 until his death in 2017, and was a correspondent for the ''Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel'' television program on HBO. He wrote 18 books, nine of them novels.
