	Frank Fisher (rugby League) Frank Fisher (1905–1980) was an Aboriginal Australian professional rugby league footballer. Nicknamed "Big Shot" and "King" Fisher, he has been described as the Wally Lewis of Aboriginal Rugby league players. He was named as a member of the Indigenous Australian Rugby League Team of the Century. Family life He was born 1905 in Townsville, Queensland the son of Frank Fisher Sr and his wife Rosie Shilling. His father had served with the 11th Light Horse Regiment but Fisher's attempt to follow in his father's footsteps in 1940 was blocked on racial grounds. He is the paternal grandfather of Australian track athlete and Olympic gold medalist Cathy Freeman. Rugby league In the 1930s Fisher was captain of the Barambah rugby league team. 	Frank Fisher (politician) Francis Marion Bates Fisher (22 December 1877 – 24 July 1960) was a New Zealand Member of Parliament from Wellington. He was known as Rainbow Fisher for his frequent changes of political allegiance. He was a veteran of the Boer War and an internationally successful tennis player becoming the champion, along with his mixed doubles partner, Irene Peacock, of the World Covered Court Championships in 1920. Early life and family Fisher was the son of George Fisher, a member of parliament and Mayor of Wellington. David Fisher was his uncle. Frank Fisher was a captain in the 10th New Zealand Contingent to the South African Second Boer War in 1902. His eldest daughter, Esther Fisher (1900–1999), became an international pianist. 	Franz Jakubowski Franz Jakubowski (10 June 1912, Posen, Province of Posen, Prussia, Germany, now Poznan, Poland1970, U.S.) was a philosopher and Western Marxist theorist. Life Born in Prussia, he grew up in what was then the Free City of Danzig. His father was a doctor. From 1930 to 1933 he studied law in Heidelberg, Berlin, Munich and Breslau, before completing his studies in political science at Basel University. After student activism and the agitational role he would briefly play in Danzig, Jakubowski abandoned Europe, and settled in the US, changing his name to Frank Fisher and marrying Margaret Citron with whom he had two children Thomas and Robert Fisher. In the 1970s he moved back to Europe and marrieElisabeth Spanjer There he would play a part in establishing the Alexander Herzen Foundation, a publisher of samizdat soviet literature.
