Frank E. Holmes
Frank Edward Holmes is an American businessman and investor. He is currently the Executive Chairman of Hive Blockchain Technologies Ltd., and CEO and Chief Investment Officer at U.S. Global Investors, Inc. Early life and education Holmes received an undergraduate degree from the University of Western Ontario. Business career U.S. Global Investors Prior to Holmes’ involvement, U.S. Global Investors, then known as United Services Advisors, was rocked by a scandal involving one of the firm’s fund managers, who was found to be taking bribes from stock promoters. Both the manager and the promoters were convicted of criminal charges for their roles in the case. The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) discovered that the president of United Services knew of the illegal behavior before he disclosed it to the commission. Origins The ''Mining Journal'' was founded in 1835 in London by Henry English, a London stockbroker under the name of ''Mining Journal and Commercial Gazette''. YPO (formerly Young Presidents' Organization) is an American-based worldwide leadership community of chief executives with approximately 29,000 members in more than 130 countries, according to the organization's 2019 YPO international fact sheet. History YPO was founded in 1950 in Rochester, New York, by manufacturer Ray Hickok, who was 27 years old when he became the head of his family's Rochester-based Hickok Belt, a 300-employee company. The first meeting was held in 1950 at the Waldorf Astoria New York and was attended by Robert Wood Johnson III (Johnson & Johnson).
