Frank Crean
Francis Daniel Crean (28 February 1916 – 2 December 2008) was an Australian politician who served as a member of the House of Representatives from 1951 to 1977, representing the Labor Party. He was a minister in the Whitlam Government, including as Treasurer from 1972 to 1974 and Deputy Prime Minister for a few months in 1975. Crean was born in Hamilton, Victoria. He attended Melbourne High School and the University of Melbourne, and subsequently worked as a tax accountant. Crean was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly in 1945. He lost his seat in 1947 and reclaimed it in 1949, but quit state politics two years later to stand at the 1951 federal election. Crean spent the first 21 years of his career in federal politics in opposition, albeit as a frontbencher for most of that time. William Haworth
Sir William Crawford Haworth (15 April 1905 – 1 December 1984) was an Australian politician. Born in Melbourne, he was educated at state schools before attending the University of Melbourne and the Victorian College of Pharmacy. He became a pharmaceutical chemist, and served in the military 1940–44. In 1937, he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly as the United Australia Party member for Albert Park; he was the Victorian Minister for Health and Housing in 1945. Stephen Crean
Stephen Lamont Crean (12 July 1947August 1985) was an Australian public servant, who was the son of Frank Crean and brother of Simon and David Crean, all politicians. Crean came to national attention in Australia due to his 1985 disappearance while skiing and the scale of the unsuccessful search to find him. He disappeared after skiing out of Charlotte Pass, New South Wales, launching one of the most intensive searches in Australian history. He was declared dead at age 38. His remains were found in 1987. David Crean
David Mackenzie Crean (born 21 November 1950, Melbourne) is a former Labor member of the Parliament of Tasmania. He is the son of former Deputy Prime Minister Frank Crean and brother to former Australian federal opposition leader Simon Crean. Before entering politics, Crean was a medical doctor in Hobart, where he started the city's first after-hours medical locum practice with his business partner, future federal opposition leader Brendan Nelson. His first wife was Jill Robson, daughter of fellow politician Neil Robson. Crean entered the House of Assembly at the 1989 election in the division of Denison. Simon Crean
Simon Findlay Crean (born 26 February 1949) is an Australian politician and trade unionist. He was the Member of Parliament for Hotham from 1990 to 2013, representing the Labor Party, and served as a Cabinet Minister in the Hawke, Keating, Rudd and Gillard Governments. He was the Leader of the Labor Party and Leader of the Opposition from November 2001 to December 2003. Crean was born in Melbourne, Victoria.
