Frank Byrne (Australian Politician)
Francis Arthur "Old Frank" Byrne (1837 – 30 June 1923) was Member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly for the electoral district of Hay 1898–1903. Early life He was born in Singleton, New South Wales to Peter Byrne, a miner, and Sarah , and had a very limited education. He married Elizabeth Susan Grace in 1865 and subsequently Sarah Ann Tate ( – 1 May 1908). He had three sons and three daughters. Career He was engaged in the coach business with Cobb and Co., for some time at Castlemaine before settling in the Riverina district around 1870, working mostly at Balranald, Wilcannia and Hay. He was interested in current affairs, read newspapers voraciously, and with his genial manner, excellent memory and huge fund of anecdotes was popular with a broad range of the travelling public. Frankie Byrne (May 1924 – 8 February 2019) was an Irish Gaelic footballer who played as a right wing-forward for the Meath county team. Byrne made his senior début during the 1943 championship. He went on to play a key role during a golden age for Meath, and won one All-Ireland medal, three Leinster medals and two National League medals. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. Frankie Byrne (27 December 1922 – 11 December 1993) was an Irish public relations consultant and broadcaster. Early life Byrne was born into a successful family of journalists from Dublin. Cared for by servants, from a young age Byrne felt like she wasn't loved as much as the other children in the family. She was the middle child with two brothers and two sisters.
