Frank Boeijen
Franciscus Johannes Maria (Frank) Boeijen (born 27 November 1957 in Nijmegen) is a Dutch singer and guitarist. His best known songs are ''Kronenburg Park (Ga die Wereld Uit)'' about a prostitute, ''Zwart Wit'' about the racial murder of Kerwin Duinmeijer in Amsterdam and ''Twee gezichten'' about a split personality. Having been in the music business for 25 years, he received the Edison award for his career achievements in 2005. Biography Frank Boeijen Groep Boeijen grew up in a family of ten children; his older brothers introduced him to Bob Dylan and Neil Young. In 1979 Boeijen released his first album, a joint effort with Wout Pennings produced by singer Rob de Nijs; Henk Wanders (drums) and Nels Busch (bass) were recruited as backing-musicians. Nijmegen
Nijmegen (;; Spanish and it, Nimega. Nijmeegs: ''Nimwèège'' ) is the largest city in the Dutch province of Gelderland and tenth largest of the Netherlands as a whole, located on the Waal river close to the German border. Kronenburgerpark
The Kronenburgerpark is a park in the center of Nijmegen, the Netherlands. It is close to the Central Railway Station and the Lange Hezelstraat. Where the park touches the Parkweg are the remains of the medieval walls with the Kruittoren (powder tower) (built around 1425). History After Nijmegen lost the status of fortified town in the Vestingwet (Constitution) (1874), the demolition of the fortifications started in 1876 and plans were made for the Explanation or expansion of the city. In 1880, the Utrecht garden architect Hendrik Copijn presented his plan for a city park to the west of the old town, where the entire city wall would be demolished. This plan did not make it. The garden and landscape architect Liévin Rosseels from Leuven came in 1881 with a new design that was approved. Amanda Redington
Amanda Redington (born January 1962) is a British presenter and actress. She has been a presenter for cable and satellite TV channels such as Music Box and Sky Channel, during the mid and late 1980s, on GMTV in 1993 and on ''The Warehouse'' on Anglia TV. Redington was a member of the music trio called K-Ram (their only hit was ''Menage à trois'' in 1984) and she took part in The Rap Pack. BLØF is a Dutch rock band from Vlissingen, Zeeland, founded in 1992 by Peter Slager. Current members are Peter Slager (bass), Paskal Jakobsen (lead vocals and guitar), Bas Kennis (keyboards), and Norman Bonink (drums). Former members are Henk Tjoonk (drums) and Chris Götte (drums). The group is one of the most popular bands in the Netherlands and has won 8 Edison Awards. In 2000, 2001, 2003, and 2004, they received the Edison Award for "Best Band in the Netherlands". Barry Hay
Barry Andrew Hay (born 16 August 1948) is an Indian-born Dutch musician; he was the lead vocalist and frontman of Dutch rock band Golden Earring from 1967 until their disbandment in 2021. Biography Hay was born in Faizabad, India, to a Dutch-Jewish mother, Sofia Maria née Sluijter (1922–2004, born in Makassar), and a Scottish commissioned officer, Philip Aubrey Hay (1923–1980). He moved to the Netherlands at the age of eight to live with his mother. He lived in Amsterdam and later in The Hague, attending an English boarding school. Mai Tai is a Dutch group (named after the tropical cocktail Mai Tai) that was formed in 1983 by the Dutch record producers Eric van Tijn and Jochem Fluitsma with three former backing vocalists Jetty Weels, Mildred Douglas and Caroline de Windt.
