Franco Columbo
Javier Esparza Coronado (born August 11, 1953) is a Mexican retired ''Luchador'', or professional wrestler, currently working as a match maker for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). Esparza is best known under the ring name Franco Columbo, a name he uses even after retiring from wrestling. Professional wrestling career Esparza was trained for his professional wrestling career by legendary Mexican wrestling trainer Diablo Velazco before making his debut in 1975 as "Franco Columbo". Due to Velazco's connections to Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre (EMLL), Mexico's largest and the world's oldest professional wrestling promotion, Columbo landed job with EMLL only a few years after making his debut. On November 1, 1980 Columbo defeated Américo Rocca to win the Mexican National Welterweight Championship, holding it for 92 days before El Supremo won it on February 1, 1981. Salvador Cuevas Ramírez (July 8, 1942 – May 3, 2010) was a Mexican ''Luchador'', or professional wrestler, known under the ring name El Supremo. Cuevas was originally an '' enmascarado'' (masked wrestler) but lost his mask in 1992 to Pierroth, Jr. Biography Salvador Cuevas was born and raised in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico in 1942. As a teenager he began working out in various gyms, developing his body for bodybuilding competitions. He would later travel to Guadalajara, Mexico and then to Mexico City during his body building career. At some point in the 1960s or 1970s he won both the "Mr. Western Mexico" and the "Mr. Mexico" bodybuilding competitions. Jerry Estrada (full name, Gerardo Hernández Estrada; born January 10, 1958, Monclova, Coahuila) is a semi-retired Mexican people, Mexican ''Lucha libre, luchador'' (professional wrestler). For most of his career, he has portrayed a ''rudo'' (Heel (professional wrestling), heel, those that portray the "bad guys") character, nicknamed "El Puma". His ''rudo'' persona was pattered on various Glam Rock bands, complete with colorful spandex and what was described as a "rock and roll" attitude in the ring. He was originally active from 1978 until 2003 when he was forced to retire due to chronic injures caused by his signature bumps outside the ring. Estrada began working select matches again in 2018. Jose Luis Arias Romero (December 20, 1951 – December 29, 2013), was a Mexican professional wrestler who wrestled in Mexico, the United States and Japan, under the ring name Ari Romero. Romero earned the nickname "El Rey del Tenedor" ("The King of the Fork") by using a fork to make his adversaries bleed in his matches. He was also nicknamed "El Rey de las Cadenas" (Spanish for "King of the chains"). Barrón is currently working as one of the head trainers at the ''Gimnasio del Diablo Velazco'' wrestling school in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. The school is one of the wrestling schools for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). While wrestling he used the ring character Gran Cochisse, a Native American character that incorporated traditional Native American imagery including the feathered headdresses and facepaint.
