Francisco Varallo
Francisco Antonio “Pancho” Varallo (; – ) was an Argentine football forward. He played for the Argentina national team from 1930 to 1937. He represented Argentina at the inaugural FIFA World Cup in 1930. During his career, Varallo won four Primera División titles (one with Gimnasia y Esgrima LP and three with Boca Juniors) and with 194 goals in 222 official matches, is Boca Juniors' 3rd. highest all-time leading goalscorer. Besides, Varallo is placed 11th. among the all-time Argentine Primera División top scorers with 216 goals. Varallo died in his home-town of La Plata on , at the age of 100. La Plata is a partido (department) in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, some southeast of the city of Buenos Aires. It has an area of , and a population of 774,369 (). Delfín Benítez Cáceres (24 September 1910 – 8 January 2004) was a Paraguayan football striker. Benítez started his career in Libertad of his native country. Martín Palermo (; born 7 November 1973) is an Argentine football manager and former player who played as a striker. He is the current manager of Platense. Palermo played for Boca Juniors and the Argentina national team. Roberto Eugenio Cerro, named "Cherro" (23 February 1907 – 11 October 1965) was an Argentine football striker. He was born in Barracas in the city of Buenos Aires in Argentina. He played the majority of his career with Boca Juniors, he scored 221 goals in 305 games for the club (in all official competitions), making him Boca Juniors' highest scoring player until his record was surpassed by Martín Palermo in 2010. The 1933 Primera División was the 42nd season of top-flight football in Argentina. It continued with both associations organising tournaments. The official AFA season did not have relegations at the end of the championship while Sportivo Acassuso made its debut in Primera. On the other hand, the dissident professional league (LAF) organised its 3rd. championship, in which relegation took place for the first time, with 5 teams sent to the second division. The amateur AFA season was won by Dock Sud, achieving its first title in Primera División, with Alfonso Lorenzo (Barracas Central) being the topscorer with 16 goals.
