Francisco García Moreno
Francisco García Moreno (born 1 June 1947 in Mexico City, died 26 March 2016 in Cuernavaca) was a Mexican Olympic water polo player (1968, 1972, 1976), and a former coach of the national team. ''El Panchote'', as Garcia Moreno was known, was a member of the bronze medal winning teams at the 1967 and 1971 Pan American Games and a member of the gold medal winning team at the 1975 Pan American Games. Garcia Moreno owned a gym in Cuernavaca where he specialized in teaching babies and children to swim. He promoted water polo among young people in the area. He was murdered during a robbery attempt near his home in Tlatenango, Cuernavaca in 2016. He was always surrounded by other athletes such as Felipe ''Tibio'' Muñoz. Career Born in Campeche, Campeche as Francisco Garcia Escalante, she first gained attention as a dancer in vedette shows, held at the famous "Blanquita" theater, some of which included a transvestites' ballet. Her first mainstream breakthrough was in the said theater during the casting for a movie called "Bellas de noche" (1975) where she was given a role, resulting in her later getting her own show at the Blanquita called "Francis, la fantasia hecha mujer" ( Francis, the fantasy made woman ) which successfully ran for 17 years, she also performed in Los Angeles at the theater "Los Pinos", which was the home of her touring shows. Francisco García Tortosa (born in La Ñora (Murcia, Spain) on September 15, 1937) is a Spanish University Professor, literary critic, and translator into Spanish. In Spain García Tortosa is considered one of the chief experts on the figure and work of the Irish writer, James Joyce, whose creations he has translated and about which he has published a wide range of studies. Francisco García Escalero (24 May 1948 – 19 August 2014) was a Spanish serial killer convicted for the murders of at least 11 individuals between 1987 and 1994. He also practiced necrophilia and cannibalism. Biography Escalero was born on 24 May 1948 in Madrid, Spain. He was a sickly and strange boy who received a poor and inferior education. From an early age, he showed a fascination with death and enjoyed walking through the cemetery. His father hated him and subjected him to many beatings. At age 16, Escalero was confined to a psychiatric hospital and he committed many thefts. In 1973 he was confined to a reformatory after stealing a motorbike and was released in 1975. Francisco García Calderón Landa (April 2, 1834 – September 21, 1905) was a lawyer and Provisional President of the Republic of Peru for a short seven-month period in 1881, during the War of the Pacific. García Calderón was a key figure in the final peace accords between Peru and Chile. Later in post-presidential career, in 1892, he was commissioned to arbitrate land disputes between Peru and Ecuador, which centered on the contested provinces of Mainas, Jaén and Tumbes. Francisco García Diego y Moreno, OFM, (17 September 1785 – 30 April 1846) was the first bishop of the Diocese of the Californias.
