Luis Bográn
Luis Bográn Barahona (3 June 1849 – 9 July 1895) was a president of Honduras, who served two consecutive terms from 30 November 1883 to 30 November 1891. He was born in the northern Honduran department of Santa Bárbara on 3 June 1849 to Saturnino Bográn Bonilla and Gertrudis Barahona Leiva. He was a member of a prominent and wealthy political family. The last name "Bográn" derives from the French surname "Beaugrand". Luis Bográn was brother of future president Francisco Bográn (5 October 1919 - 1 February 1920) and first cousin of future president Miguel Paz Barahona (1 February 1925 - 1 February 1929). Vicente Mejía Colindres (6 April 1878 – 24 August 1966) was President of Honduras between 16 September and 5 October 1919; and again between 1 February 1929 and 1 February 1933. A successful beginning to his presidency was dampened by the effects of the 1929 economic depression. He had been democratically elected in the 1928 elections that saw an almost unprecedented peaceful transfer of power from the incumbent to an opposition party, and the same was to occur in 1932 when Tiburcio Carías Andino won and succeeded him. Rafael López Gutiérrez
General Rafael Salvador López Gutiérrez (11 May 1854 – 16 March 1924) was President of Honduras from 1 February 1920 to 10 March 1924. A former general in the Honduran Army, Gutierrez attempted to extend his term in office past its designated end, and was forced from office. He died in Amapala on 16 March 1924, suffering from diabetes, after a failed attempt to escape to the United States for insulin treatment. Life Lopez-Gutiérrez was born to Soledad Gutiérrez Lozano and Juan López Gutiérrez on 11 May 1854 in the Honduran capital of Tegucigalpa. His family was very influential for example his father was the provisional President of Honduras in 1855. His early studies were in Tegucigalpa, but for the study of law, he was sent to London, where his mother's brother, Carlos Gutiérrez Lozano, was the Honduran ambassador to England.
