Francis Le Gresley
Francis du Heaume Le Gresley, MBE is a Jersey politician. He was a member of the States of Jersey between 2010 and 2014, after being first elected in the Jersey by-election of 2010. Prior to his political career he was the manager of the Citizens Advice Bureau in Jersey. He was the Minister for Social Security until 2014. Political career Le Gresley first stood for election in June 2010, in a by-election for one seat, against eight other candidates including former-Senator Stuart Syvret, and Deputy Geoff Southern. Le Gresley topped the poll with 5,798 votes. The following year he held on to his seat, in the Jersey general election of 2011, receiving 14,891 votes. Pharmacies In April 2013, Le Gresley announce a change in the fees paid to local pharmacies by Jersey's Health Insurance Fund. Ian Gorst
Ian Joseph Gorst (born 15 December 1969) is a Jersey politician who has been a Deputy for St Mary, St Ouen and St Peter and Minister for Treasury and Resources since 2022. Gorst was first elected to the States Assembly in the 2005 general election as a Deputy for St Clement. In November 2011, after his successful election as a Senator, Gorst was appointed Chief Minister by the Assembly. He served two terms as Chief Minister until he was beaten in a vote against John Le Fondré after the 2018 general election. From 2018 to 2022 he served as Minister for External Relations. Susan Pinel
Susan Jane Pinel is a Jersey politician. She was a deputy in the States Assembly for St Clement between 2011 and 2022, the Minister for Social Security between 2014 and 2018, and the Minister for Treasury and Resources between 2018 and 2022. Early life Prior to entering politics, she worked in art restoration for the British royal family for eleven years, repairing miniature portraits which were damaged in the 1992 Windsor Castle fire. She received a Royal Warrant in 2001 for this work. Stuart Syvret
Stuart Syvret is a former Jersey politician. He held elected office as a member of the States of Jersey assembly from 1990 to 2010. From 1999 to 2007, Svyret had executive responsibilities first as President of the Health and Social Services Committee and, after the 2005 constitutional reforms, as Minister for Health and Social Services in the Council of Ministers. He was dismissed from ministerial office in September 2007 and returned to the backbenches until he was disqualified from membership of the States in April 2010 due to his absence from the island. Geoff Southern is a Jersey politician, and former teacher. He has been a deputy in the States of Jersey since winning a by-election, on 15 February 2002, and has chaired two scrutiny panels. 2011 Jersey General Election
The 2011 Jersey general election was held on 19 October 2011 to elect 45 members of the States Assembly. This was the first time Senators, Deputies and Constables were elected on a single day in Jersey. The number of members of the States of Jersey was reduced from 53 to 51. Six Senators who had been elected in 2008 for a period of six years did not face election in 2011. The Council of Ministers (french: Conseil des Ministres; nrf, label= Jèrriais, Conseil des Minnistre) is the collective decision-making body of the Government of Jersey, formed by the Ministers of the States of Jersey and the Chief Minister. The council co-ordinates policies and administration, especially policy affecting two or more ministers, prioritises executive and legislative proposals, and presents a "Strategic Plan for Jersey" for approval by the States Assembly.
