Francis Ingall
Brigadier Francis Herman Barclay Ingall, (24 October 1908 – 21 August 1998) was a British Indian Army officer. He was the founding commandant of the Pakistan Military Academy. Francis Ingall was born on 24 October 1908 in Oxted, Surrey, and was educated at Hurstpierpoint. In 1927, he joined the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, and was commissioned as a second lieutenant onto the Unattached List of the British Indian Army on 31 January 1929. After arriving in British India, he was attached to the 2nd battalion of the Essex Regiment on 23 March 1929. On 23 April 1930 he transferred to the Indian Army and joined the 6th Lancers, which had descended from regiments of Bengal Lancers of the Bengal Army. Ingall saw action in the North-West Frontier Province during 1930–31. Oxted
Oxted is a town and civil parish in the Tandridge district of Surrey, England, at the foot of the North Downs. It is south south-east of Croydon in Greater London, west of Sevenoaks in Kent, and north of East Grinstead in West Sussex. Oxted is a commuter town with a railway station, with direct train services to London and has the district council offices. Its main developed area is contiguous with the village of Limpsfield. Six intermittent headwaters of the River Eden unite in the occasional market town including its furthest source, east of Titsey Place. The Eden feeds into Kent's longest river, the Medway. Only the southern slope of the North Downs is steep and its towns and farmland form the Vale of Holmesdale, a series of headwaters across Surrey and Kent to separate rivers. North-West Frontier Province (1901–1955)
The North-West Frontier Province (NWFP; ps, شمال لویدیځ سرحدي ولایت, ) was a Chief Commissioner's Province of British India, established on 9 November 1901 from the north-western districts of the Punjab Province. Following the referendum in 1947 to join either Pakistan or India, the province voted hugely in favour of joining Pakistan and it acceded accordingly on 14th August, 1947. It was dissolved to form a unified province of West Pakistan in 1955 upon creation of One Unit Scheme and was re-established in 1970. It was known by this name until 19 April 2010, when it was redesignated as the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa following the passing of the Eighteenth Amendment to the Constitution of Pakistan by erstwhile President of Pakistan, President Asif Ali Zardari.
