Francis Earl Curran
Francis Earl Curran (December 19, 1912 – October 18, 1992) was an American Democratic politician from California. __TOC__ Biography Frank Curran was born in 1912 in Cleveland, Ohio. His father was a boxer under the name "Red Kenney" and operated a wallpaper-hanging business. The family moved to Oceanside, California in 1919. Curran met his wife Florance on Oceanside Pier and they were married in 1936. She was born 1913 in Denver. Curran was elected to the San Diego City Council and served from 1955–1963. He was elected Mayor of San Diego in 1962, and served between 1963 and 1971. During his term, the Civic Center was built, a ballot issue passed to build a new stadium in Mission Valley, and a metropolitan sewer system. He said "If we hadn't built that, we couldn't have done anything else." At the end of his term Curran was embroiled in the "Yellow Cab" bribery scandal. Charles Dail
Charles Calhoun Dail (January 11, 1909 – July 13, 1968) was an American Democratic politician from San Diego, California. He served three terms on the San Diego City Council and two terms as the 27th Mayor of San Diego. Biography Charles Calhoun Dail was born on January 11, 1909, in Kansas City, Kansas. His parents were Charles Darwin Dail and Hester Dail, née Cooksey. He married Dorothy Mae Cook on June 28, 1933. Prior to seeking elected office, Dail worked in the insurance business. Pete Wilson
Peter Barton Wilson (born August 23, 1933) is an American attorney and politician who served as the 36th governor of California from 1991 to 1999. A member of the Republican Party, he also served as a United States senator from California between 1983 and 1991, and as the 29th mayor of San Diego from 1971 to 1983. Born in Lake Forest, Illinois, Wilson graduated from the UC Berkeley School of Law after serving in the United States Marine Corps.
