Frank Butler (February 18, 1928 – July 24, 1984) was an American jazz drummer. Early life Butler was born in Kansas City, Missouri, but later moved west and was associated in large part with the West Coast school. He played the drums in multiple high school bands (including one in Omaha, Nebraska), in local jazz combos, and in USO shows during World War II.Feather, p. 150. Frank Wells Butler (18 August 1884 Р25 July 1961) was a member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Biography Butler was born at Kilcoy, Queensland, the son of William Butler and his wife Jane (n̩e Graham). He was educated privately at Kilcoy Station and then attended Brisbane Grammar School. He managed his father's dairy property on the Brisbane River until 1910 and then managed and later owned ''Targinnie Station''. He married Margaret Steel in Sydney in 1915 and together had four children. Butler died at Gladstone in July 1961. Public life Butler, representing the CPNP, won the seat of Port Curtis at the 1929 Queensland state election. He held it for one term, being defeated by Tommy Williams of the Labor Party. Frank Willis Butler (January 17, 1928 – November 15, 2020) was the founder of Catalina Yachts, one of the biggest boat designers and manufacturers in the world. The early Wesco years Born in California in 1928, Butler started his career in the Navy, and went to college, but found college difficult and did not graduate. He opened his own machine shop called Wesco Tool, where he experienced great success making airplane parts. In the late 1950s Butler started sailing dinghies, and as his family grew he desired a bigger boat. He set his sights on the 21' Victory Sloop, designed by naval architect Ted Carpenter and first launched in 1959. He contracted with the boat builder to make him one, but the builder ran out of funds. Butler gave the builder a loan. Unable to repay the debt, the builder gave Butler the tooling to continue building the boat himself. Frank Butler (1871 or 1872 – September 24, 1899) was an American baseball pitcher and outfielder in the pre-Negro leagues. Butler played for the Chicago Union Giants for at least two years, coming from the same area as team owners Frank Leland and W.S. Peters. Frank Russell Butler (December 28, 1889 — June 10, 1967) was an American film and theatre actor and later an award-winning screenwriter, born in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England to parents Frederick Butler and Sarah Ann Hedges. His son, Hugo Butler, also became a Hollywood screenwriter. Career Theatre His theatre career included two appearances (1920s–1930s) in Broadway-theatre productions in New York City. Frank Butler (jockey)
Frank Butler (1817-1856) was an English jockey who became one of the country's top riders. In a period of about 11 years he won The Derby twice, The Oaks on six occasions, the Two Thousand Guineas twice, the One Thousand Guineas twice, the St Leger, the Goodwood Cup on three occasions and the Triple Crown on West Australian. In his final years of racing he won 143 races from 384 starts. Illness forced him to stop riding in 1854 and he died two years later at the age of 39. Early years Butler, whose first name was actually Francis, was born into a horse racing family; his mother, Sarah, was the daughter of jockey Samuel Chifney Sr. and his father, William, was a Newmarket based training-groom who served the Duke of Richmond, Lord Lonsdale and Frederick the Duke of York.
