Francis Asbury Baker (March 30, 1820 – April 4, 1865) was an American Catholic priest, missionary, and social worker, known as one of the founders of the Paulist Fathers in 1858. Life Francis Asbury Baker was born in Baltimore, Maryland on March 30, 1820, the son Samuel Baker, a prominent physician and University of Maryland Professor of Medicine. His paternal grandfather, William Baker was a German immigrant; his paternal grandmother, a woman of Irish origin. William Baker was a successful merchant. His maternal grandfather, John Dickins, was an English Methodist preacher, who died in Philadelphia during a yellow fever outbreak. His maternal uncle was Secretary of the United States Senate, Asbury Dickins.

Francis Matthew John Baker
Francis Matthew John Baker (1903 – 28 March 1939) was an Australian politician and vice-president of the State Service Union. Baker was born in Bundaberg, Queensland. A member of the Federal Labor Party, he unsuccessfully ran for office for the Queensland seat of Oxley in the 1928 federal election, being beaten by James Bayley of the Nationalist Party. He made a second run for the seat in 1929, and narrowly lost to Bayley. In the 1931 election he contested Oxley for a third time, this time successfully. He was one of only two Labor challengers to defeat a Coalition incumbent in an election that saw the two Labor factions cut down to 18 seats between them. Following the abolition of Oxley, Baker successfully contested Griffith, essentially a reconfigured version of Oxley, in 1934 and won. He was reelected in 1937. Francis (Frank) Patrick Baker (30 May 1873 – 2 June 1959) was an Australian politician, serving one term as the representative for seat of Maranoa in the Australian House of Representatives from September 1940 to August 1943. Early life and career Baker was born in Leyburn, Queensland, Australia on 30 May 1873. Educated in private schools in Queensland, Baker became a state school teacher for 10 years before serving as an Inspector for Schools for a further 20 years. Political career In 1940, Baker was elected to represent the seat of Maranoa in the Australian House of Representatives as a member of the Australian Labor Party—only the second time Labor had ever won this normally safe conservative seat in the remote west of Queensland. He was Ambassador to Kuwait from 2010 to 2014, and Ambassador to Iraq from 2014 to 2017. Early life Baker was born on 27 January 1961 to Raymond and Pamela Baker. Francis Baker (5 December 1847 – 15 April 1901) was an English cricketer. A left-handed batsman born in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, Baker's career in first-class cricket spanned eight matches for the Marylebone Cricket Club, Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, and two Gentlemen's teams between 1866 and 1875. He scored 199 runs in these matches, with a batting average of 15.30. His best innings, a score of 53, came against Surrey on 4 June 1868, while playing for the MCC. Francis Eustace Baker (born 19 April 1933) is a British businessman who was the Governor of Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha between 1984 and 1988. While he was Governor, he implemented a '3 day working scheme' to help tackle unemployment and announced the plans to build the 2nd RMS St Helena, which was, up until the construction of St Helena's airport, the main link between the territory and the rest of the world.
