Francesco Tifernate
Francesco Tifernate also known as Francesco da Città di Castello (circa 1486 – ) was an Italian painter, active in his native Città di Castello and painting in a Renaissance style. Biography He was born to a father who was a jeweler. It is not clear where he trained, but he clearly would have either met or encountered the contemporary works of Pietro Perugino and a young Raphael, both of whom had ties to his native town. He is known mainly for two extant altarpieces, both ''Annunciations'' made for churches in his native town. Città di Castello (); "Castle Town") is a city and ''comune'' in the province of Perugia, in the northern part of Umbria. It is situated on a slope of the Apennines, on the flood plain along the upper part of the river Tiber. The city is north of Perugia and south of Cesena on the motorway SS 3 bis. It is connected by the SS 73 with Arezzo and the A1 highway, situated 38 km (23 mi) west. The ''comune'' of Città di Castello has an exclave named Monte Ruperto within Marche. Pietro Perugino
Pietro Perugino (, ; – 1523), born Pietro Vannucci, was an Italian Renaissance Painting, painter of the Umbrian school, who developed some of the qualities that found classic expression in the High Renaissance. Raphael was his most famous pupil. Early years He was born Pietro Vannucci in Città della Pieve, Umbria, the son of Cristoforo Maria Vannucci. His nickname characterizes him as from Perugia, the chief city of Umbria. Scholars continue to dispute the socioeconomic status of the Vannucci family. While certain academics maintain that Vannucci worked his way out of poverty, others argue that his family was among the wealthiest in the town. His exact date of birth is not known, but based on his age at death that was mentioned by Giorgio Vasari, Vasari and Giovanni Santi, it is believed that he was born between 1446 and 1452. Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, better known as Raphael (; or ; March 28 or April 6, 1483April 6, 1520), was an Italian painter and architect of the High Renaissance. List of works by Raphael, His work is admired for its clarity of form, ease of composition, and visual achievement of the Renaissance Neoplatonism, Neoplatonic ideal of human grandeur. Together with Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, he forms the traditional trinity of great masters of that period. San Domenico, Città Di Castello
San Domenico is a Renaissance and Gothic style, consecrated Roman Catholic church and former monastery. It is located on the corner of Largo Monsignor Muzi and Via Luca Signorelli, and adjacent to the Piazza di San Giovanni in Campo, in the center of Città di Castello, region of Umbria, Italy. History The Dominican order was introduced in the city in 1269, and was affiliated with a number of different churches. Construction of this austere brick church began in 1400 and was completed in 1424. The façade is unfinished. On the left are the square bell tower and the ogival portal dating to the 14th century. In 1724, the interior was refurbished, removing nine lateral altars. The church contains mostly fragmentary and restored frescoes inside; in 1911 many of the Baroque additions to the structure were removed. The name is specifically used for the building containing pictures which formed the left wing of the Propylaea on the Acropolis at Athens, Greece.
