Francesco Marciuliano
Francesco Marciuliano is the writer of the syndicated comic strips ''Sally Forth'' and ''Judge Parker''. Marciuliano also wrote ''The New York Times'' bestselling book ''I Could Pee on This and Other Poems by Cats'' (2013), the national bestseller ''I Could Chew on This and Other Poems by Dogs'' (2013), and ''I Knead My Mommy and Other Poems by Kittens'' (2014). He also writes and draws the satiric webcomic ''Medium Large''. Career Marciuliano assumed writing duties for ''Sally Forth'' in 1999 after the strip's creator Greg Howard retired. Marciuliano had been working with Howard two years prior to taking over the writing duties. Since then he has introduced several regular-appearing characters to the comic including daughter Hilary's friends Faye and Nona, Sally's mom Laura and sister Jackie, and husband Ted's parents and brothers. New York International Fringe Festival
The New York International Fringe Festival, or FringeNYC, was a fringe theater festival and one of the largest multi-arts events in North America. It took place over the course of a few weeks in October, spread on more than 20 stages across several neighborhoods in downtown Manhattan, notably the Lower East Side, the East Village, and Greenwich Village. Most of the venues were centered on the FringeHUB. Yearly attendance topped 75,000 people. Festival Unlike most Fringe festivals, FringeNYC uses a jury-based selection process. Around 200 shows, out of a much larger pool of applicants, are selected for inclusion each year. However, from 2018 the Festival reduced the number of shows. Dix Hills, New York
Dix Hills is an affluent hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) on Long Island in the town of Huntington in Suffolk County, New York. The population was 26,892 at the 2010 census. In the past, Dix Hills and some of its neighbors have proposed incorporating as the Incorporated Village of Half Hollow Hills. These proposals were all mothballed. History Settlers traded goods with the Indigenous Secatogue tribe for the land that became Dix Hills in 1699. The Secatogues lived in the northern portion of the region during the later half of that century. The land was known as Dick's Hills. By lore, the name traces to a local native named Dick Pechegan, likely of the Secatogues. Scholar William Wallace Tooker wrote that the addition of the English name "Dick" to the indigenous name "Pechegan" was a common practice.
