Francesco Attesti
Francesco Attesti (born 6 June 1975, in Cortona) is an Italian classical pianist. Biography He began practicing the piano at the age of 6 and gave his first concert at 11. In 1998, studying with Maestro Luigi Tanganelli at the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory of Florence, Francesco Attesti earned the highest grades in piano bestowed by that institution. Soon thereafter, he attended masterclasses with Jacques Rouvier (1998), Hector Moreno (1999, 2000) and Sergio Perticaroli (1996, 2000, 2003) at the Mozarteum Salzburg. Attesti quickly established an international reputation after winning several prizes in International Competition and receiving honorary citizenship in cities such as Diamante (Argentina), McAllen, Edinburg and Levelland (USA). He is very interested in contemporary music and he performed several works by Bruno Bettinelli, Fabio Mengozzi, Biagio Putignano and others. Cortona
Cortona (, ) is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Arezzo, in Tuscany, Italy. It is the main cultural and artistic centre of the Val di Chiana after Arezzo. Toponymy Cortona is derived from Latin Cortōna, and from Etruscan 𐌂𐌖𐌓𐌕𐌖𐌍 (curtun). This may be related to Indo-European *ghortos meaning "enclosed place" and consequently walled city like Latin hortus, German Garten, Italian orto, English yard, and Slavic grad. The name may also be linked to the Phrygian town of Gordium in Anatolia, although the founding myth for the latter is that it was named after founder, King Gordias. However, the Etruscan language is probably a pre-Indo-European language, and therefore if it was named by the Etruscans, an Indo-European etymology is uncertain. The Umbrian language, by contrast, is an Italic language, so if it was named by them, a link to Indo-European roots would be more likely. Alessandro Grego (born 18 March 1969, Trieste) is an Italian contemporary classical composer, theater and film score author. Biography He studied composition with Giorgio Gaslini, electronic music with Curtis Roads, musicology at the School of Paleography, Musical Philology of Cremona and Music for Films at the Experimental Film Centre in Rome. In 2023, in Radom, Poland, he won the first prize at the international composition competition "Arboretum," conceived by the Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki, with a violin concerto with string orchestra titled "The Eternal Sea," inspired by a collection of poems by Biagio Marin and dedicated to the memory of Edda Serra, a literary critic and scholar of his work. Edoardo Sanguineti (9 December 1930 – 18 May 2010) was a Genoa, Genoese poet, writer and academic, universally considered one of the major Italian authors of the second half of the twentieth century. Biography During the 1960s he was a leader of the neo avant-garde ''Gruppo 63'' movement, founded in 1963 at Solunto. He was also an active translator of James Joyce, Joyce, Molière, Shakespeare, Bertolt Brecht, and select Greek and Latin authors. From 1979 until 1983, Sanguineti was a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Parliament. He was elected as an independent on the list of the Italian Communist Party, PCI. He was an atheist.
