French Swimming Federation
The French Swimming Federation (french: Fédération française de natation, FFN) is the French water sports association, founded in February 1919, grouping the sports swimming clubs, open water swimming, synchronized swimming, diving and French water polo, which organizes the national competitions and the selection of French teams. In 2017, the Federation has 316,905 members. The FFN is a member of the European Swimming League (LEN) and the International Swimming Federation (Fina). Since April 2017, the FFN is chaired by Gilles Sezionale. Affiliation It is affiliated to: *FINA, which oversees international swimming; *LEN, which oversees swimming in Europe; *CNOSF, the French National Olympic and Sport Committee; and *the French Government's Secretary of State for Sport. 2020 FINA Men's Water Polo World League
The 2020 FINA Men's Water Polo World League was the 19th edition of the annual men's international water polo tournament. It was played between November 2019 and July 2021 and open to all men's water polo national teams. After participating in a preliminary round, eight teams qualified to play in a final tournament, called the Super Final, originally scheduled from 23 to 28 June 2020. The tournament was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In August 2020, it was announced that it would be played in from January to July 2021. Montenegro won their third overall title, after defeating the United States in the final. In the world league, there are specific rules that do not allow matches to end in a draw. If teams are level at the end of the 4th quarter of any world league match, the match will be decided by a penalty shootout. 2006 FINA Men's Water Polo World League
The 2006 FINA Men's Water Polo World League was the fifth edition of the annual event, organised by the world's governing body in aquatics, the FINA. After a preliminary round and a semifinal round, the Super Final was held in Athens, Greece. Preliminary round Three teams from each pool advanced to the semifinal round. The semifinal round hosts (Spain and the United States) were guaranteed qualification, as was the Super Final host (Greece). Water Polo At The 2024 Summer Olympics
The water polo tournaments at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are scheduled to run from 27 July to 11 August. Preliminary water polo matches will occur at Paris Aquatics Centre, with the final playoffs staged at the iconic Paris La Défense Arena. Similar to the previous edition, twenty-two teams (twelve for men and ten for women) will compete against each other in their respective tournaments. Qualification The International Olympic Committee and the World Aquatics (AQUA) have ratified and released the qualification criteria for Paris 2024. The host nation France reserves a direct quota place each in the men's and women's tournament with the remainder of the total quota attributed to the eligible NOCs through a tripartite qualification pathway.
