"Fox on the Run" is a song written by Tony Hazzard, first recorded by the English band Manfred Mann, and released as a single on 29 November 1968. It reached No. 5 on the UK Singles Chart in late January 1969. Manfred Mann
Manfred Mann were an English rock band, formed in London and active between 1962 and 1969. The group were named after their keyboardist Manfred Mann, who later led the successful 1970s group Manfred Mann's Earth Band. The band had two different lead vocalists, Paul Jones from 1962 to 1966 and Mike d'Abo from 1966 to 1969. Prominent in the Swinging London scene of the 1960s, the group regularly appeared in the UK Singles Chart. Three of their most successful singles, "Do Wah Diddy Diddy", "Pretty Flamingo", and " Mighty Quinn", topped the UK charts. Václav Neckář (born 23 October 1943 in Prague) is a Czech singer and actor. He is best known for his performance as Miloš Hrma in ''Closely Watched Trains''. Between 1978 and 1979 he cooperated with Polish singer Anna Jantar during their performances in Poland and Czechoslovakia (ČSSR). In 2007, he was accused of having been an StB collaborator from 1978. From 1968 to 1970 he was a singer in Golden Kids with Marta Kubišová and Helena Vondráčková, and from 1970 a singer in the group Bacily. In 2011, Neckař described himself as a non-practising Hussite. Following the death of Neckař’s wife Jaroslava in 2015, Rev. David Frýda described him and his wife as strong believers and frequent congregants. Richard Barnes (musician)
Richard Barnes (born 9 July 1944 in Surrey, England) is a British singer who saw limited chart success in the early 1970s. He has also worked as an actor. Career His professional music career started with The Quiet Five in 1964, where he played bass guitar and sang vocals. The group broke up around 1967. Barnes released a solo album on Philips Records in 1970, which was produced by Gerry Bron, and scored two chart hits in the UK Singles Chart that same year. His first hit, "Take to the Mountains" reached number 35 in May 1970, and "Go North" peaked at number 38 in November. Both hits were written by Tony Hazzard. A compilation album was released in August 2007 by RPM Records, under the title of ''Take To The Mountains''. It featured tracks recorded by Barnes between 1969 and 1974.
