Foundation (Brand Nubian Album)
''Foundation'' is the fourth album by hip hop group Brand Nubian. It was released on September 29, 1998, via Arista. The album marked the reunion of the four original members, Grand Puba, Sadat X, Lord Jamar and DJ Alamo, who hadn't released an album together since their 1990 debut '' One for All''. ''Foundation'' saw the group regain their past success, critically and commercially. The single " Don't Let It Go to Your Head" became their biggest ''Billboard'' Hot 100 hit, in 1998, and was remixed by The Neptunes as the 12" single "Take It To Your Head" in the same year. Unlike previous releases, ''Foundation'' mostly features outside production, resulting in an updated sound. DJ Premier, O.Gee, C.L. Album
An album is a collection of audio recordings issued on compact disc (CD), vinyl, audio tape, or another medium such as digital distribution. Albums of recorded sound were developed in the early 20th century as individual 78 rpm records collected in a bound book resembling a photograph album; this format evolved after 1948 into single vinyl long-playing (LP) records played at rpm. The album was the dominant form of recorded music expression and consumption from the mid-1960s to the early 21st century, a period known as the album era. Lord Jamar
Lorenzo Dechalus (born September 17, 1968), known professionally as Lord Jamar is an American rapper, DJ, record producer, actor and podcaster. He is a founding member of the hip hop group Brand Nubian, which was formed in 1989. In 1996, he discovered Dead Prez and got them signed to Loud Records. Early life Jamar was born in The Bronx, New York City, but was raised in New Rochelle, New York. Jamar has Afro-Guyanese heritage on his father's side, and he is the eldest of three brothers. He was introduced to hip hop music in the 1970s through a friend who lived in his neighborhood, and he would listen to tapes of The Cold Crush Brothers, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five and The Sugarhill Gang. A backing vocalist is a singer who provides vocal harmony with the lead vocalist or other backing vocalists. Amir Junaid Muhadith (born Chauncey Lamont Hawkins, on June 20, 1975), best known by his stage name Loon, is a retired American rapper best known for his association with Sean Combs's Bad Boy Records. He was featured artist on Combs's 2002 hits " I Need a Girl (Part One)" and "I Need a Girl (Part Two)". Career Chauncey Lamont Hawkins was born in Harlem, New York. The Neptunes are an American songwriting and production duo composed of Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, formed in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in 1992.
