Fossa GAA
Fossa GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Fossa, County Kerry, Ireland. The club is concerned with the game of Gaelic football. It is a member of the East Kerry GAA board. History Located four miles west of Killarney, County Kerry, Fossa GAA Club was founded on 11 January 1970. The club leased a field from the nearby Liebherr firm in 1972 and the following year fielded its first senior team in the East Kerry League and Championship and in Division 4 of the County League. Fossa won their first championship in 2016, winning the Kerry Junior Championship. Fossa won the Kerry Premier Junior title in 2022, beating Listry in the final after extra-time. They went on to claim the Munster Junior title after wins over Castlemahon in the semi-final and Kilmurry in the final. All-Ireland Junior Club Football Championship
The All-Ireland Junior Club Football Championship is a Gaelic football competition which began in 2002 and is played by the junior club champions of each county. Prior to that a number of unofficial competitions were held. The winners of each county's junior football championship compete in four provincial championships. The four provincial winners compete in the All Ireland. Ardfert Gaa, Ardfert, a club from Kerry, made history when they won the All-Ireland Junior Club Football Championship in 2006 and then won the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Football Championship in 2007. Kerry clubs have enjoyed the most success, with ten clubs winning the All-Ireland Junior Club Football Championship since its official inauguration in 2004. Paudie Clifford
Paudie Clifford (Irish: ''Pádraig Ó Clúmháin'') is an Irish Gaelic footballer. As of 2023, he is centre back and captain of Fossa, half forward for regional side East Kerry and at senior level for the Kerry county team. He is the brother of fellow Kerry footballer David Clifford. Club Clifford plays for the Fossa GAA club in County Kerry and for divisional side East Kerry GAA. He won the 2016 Kerry Junior Football Championship with Fossa. He is also a two-time winner of the Kerry Senior Football Championship with East Kerry GAA. GAA GPA All Stars Awards
The Gaelic Athletic Association-Gaelic Players' Association All Stars Awards (often known simply as the All Stars) are awarded annually to the best player in each of the 15 playing positions in Gaelic football and hurling. Additionally, one player in each code is selected as Player of the Year. The awards were instituted in 1971. Since 2011 they have been presented jointly by the Gaelic Athletic Association and the representative body for inter-county players, the Gaelic Players Association. Each player who receives a nomination is given a medallion marking the milestone. It is considered "the most coveted sporting award scheme in the country". David Clifford (Irish: ''Daithí Ó Clúmháin'') (born 22 January 1999) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays as a corner-forward or full-forward at club level for Fossa and East Kerry and for the Kerry county team. The 2022–23 All-Ireland Junior Club Football Championship was the 21st staging of the All-Ireland Junior Club Football Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association for the 2001–02 season. The draws for the respective provincial championships took place at various stages between June and September 2022. The championship ran from 22 October 2022 to 15 January 2023. The All-Ireland final was played on 15 January 2023 at Croke Park in Dublin, between Fossa from Kerry and Stewartstown Harps from Tyrone, in what was their first ever meeting in the final. Milltown/Castlemaine GAA
Milltown/Castlemaine is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in Milltown, County Kerry, Milltown, County Kerry, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. History The club was founded in 1889, but the exact date is not clear. The club's first appearance in the Kerry Senior Football Championship was the following year. In 1891, Milltown entered two teams. It was the only club to do so. This was a great feat as both teams were composed of 21 players. They had some success with the A team, the Milltown Volunteers, winning a few games, only to be beaten by Laune Rangers. In 1892 the club entered one team. It won the first two games beating Cordal and Tough, only to be defeated by Ballymacelligott. Milltown club then seems to have declined for a few years as it didn't contest the County Championship again until 1900.
