Fort Erie Meteors
The Fort Erie Meteors are a Canadian junior ice hockey team based in Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada. They play in the Golden Horseshoe division of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League. History The Meteors originated in the Niagara District Junior B Hockey League in the 1960s. The Meteors stuck with the Niagara league until the bitter end, winning the league's final championship in 1979. The next year they entered the Golden Horseshoe Junior Hockey League. As of 2007, the Meteors are in the Golden Horseshoe Division of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League. On December 31, 2012, owner and general manager Tony Passero pulled the Meteors from the ice and after two minutes the game was forfeited to their opponent, Port Colborne Pirates. Passero had been ejected from the game for his reaction to his son, one of his team's players, being hit from behind by an opponent and the referees only calling a roughing minor. Fort Erie, Ontario
Fort Erie is a town on the Niagara River in the Niagara Region, Ontario, Canada. It is directly across the river from Buffalo, New York, and is the site of Old Fort Erie which played a prominent role in the War of 1812. Fort Erie is one of Niagara's fastest growing communities, and has experienced a high level of residential and commercial development in the past few years. Ancaster Avalanche
The Ancaster Avalanche were a Canada, Canadian junior hockey, junior ice hockey team based in Ancaster, Ontario. They played in the Golden Horseshoe Conference of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League. The team was known as the Stoney Creek Warriors prior to 2013. In 2018, they relocated to become the Hamilton Kilty B's. History The Warriors were formed in 1974 as a member of the Niagara & District Junior C Hockey League. As a Junior C team, the Warriors would win four league titles. The Warriors moved up to the Golden Horseshoe Junior B Hockey League in 1994 under the name Spirit. In the Summer of 2013, the team was relocated to Ancaster, Ontario and renamed the Avalanche. On September 7, 2013, hockey officially returned to Ancaster, as the Avalanche hosted the Buffalo Regals in their season opener and defeated them 10-3. Rick Morocco
Rick Morocco (born February 14, 1963) is a Canadian-Italian ice hockey executive, and former professional player. A native of Niagara Falls, Ontario, he played junior ice hockey in Ontario, before winning a national university championship with the York Lions. During six seasons of professional hockey in Italy, he also played for the Italy men's national team at the World Championships and Winter Olympics. After his playing career, he served as an executive for Ontario University Athletics, the Professional Hockey Players' Association, the Canadian Junior Hockey League, and the Ontario Junior Hockey League. Jarrod Skalde (born February 26, 1971) is a Canadian ice hockey coach and player who is a free agent. He was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario. John Michael Lalor (born March 8, 1963) is an American former professional ice hockey defenceman. Although a U.S. citizen by birth, Lalor spent his youth in Fort Erie, Ontario. Bill Huard
William John Huard (born June 24, 1967) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played in the National Hockey League between 1992 and 1999 with six teams. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1988 to 2000, was spent in different minor leagues. Stanley W. Drulia (born January 5, 1968) is an American former professional right winger and a scout for the Nashville Predators of the NHL as of December, 2018. Playing career Prior to his mid-season hiring in Milwaukee he was the head coach of the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL where he led the Nailers to a combined 49-35-0-5 record during his tenure there. Randall H. Burridge (born January 7, 1966) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played in 706 games in the National Hockey League, scoring 199 goals along with 251 assists for a total of 450 points, while accumulating 458 penalty minutes.
