Forogj, Világ!
Hungary returned to the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, held in Kyiv, Ukraine, after seven years of absence, with the song "Forogj, világ!", written by Attila Valla and composed by Szabolcs Harmath and performed by Nox. The Hungarian entry to the 2005 contest was determined via a national final organised by the Hungarian national broadcaster MTV. Eurovíziós Dalfesztivál took place on 13 March 2005 and featured twelve entries, of which Nox was selected by a combination of jury and televoting to represent Hungary in Kyiv. Due to skipping the 2004 contest, Hungary was drawn to compete in the semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 which took place on 19 May 2005. Performing during the show in position 15, "Forogj, világ!" was announced among the top 10 entries of the semi-final and therefore qualified to compete in the final. Nox (band)
Nox were a Hungarian pop band which mixed traditional Hungarian music with more modern sounds. They released 7 albums and had two fixed members, Szilvia Péter Szabó, and Tamás Nagy. Hungary has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 17 times since making its debut in . Hungary attempted to participate in but failed to qualify from ''Kvalifikacija za Millstreet'', a special qualifying competition set up for seven former Eastern Bloc countries. Szilvia Péter Szabó
Szilvia Péter Szabó (born 9 September 1982, Szeged, Hungary) is Hungarian pop singer. She is most well known as the singer of the Hungarian folk-pop band NOX. Career She learned to sing on her own. Early in her career, she was a singer of a small band in Szeged. Later, she was discovered and was chosen to become the singer of the newly created music group NOX. She has been a member of the group ever since unlike nearly all other members. NOX has been very successful. They took part in the Eurovision Song Contest, they won the Dalnokok Ligája and they also won several awards. NOX is one of the most well-known groups in Hungary and they plan to tour Western Europe. M1 (TV Channel)
M1 (M Egy) is a Hungarian television channel owned and operated by Duna Média since 2015. It is also transmitted in high definition. It was the most watched national channel in Hungary and its transmission receiving is 97%. On 15 March 2015, M1 was relaunched as a 24-hour news channel, meaning all variety programming is now transferred to Duna. A 2019 report by the European Federation of Journalists stated that news coverage of Hungarian public broadcaster is not balanced, opposition politicians' viewpoints are nearly absent from the reports, and there is a lack of transparency over the funding and work of MTVA. Finland participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song "Why?" written by Mika Toivanen and Steven Stewart. The song was performed by Geir Rönning. Romania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 in Kyiv, Ukraine. They selected their entry, "Let Me Try" by Romanian singer Luminița Anghel and group Sistem, through the national selection ''Selecția Națională 2005'' in March 2005. Controversy surrounded the event, as second-placed singer Loredana accused the organising broadcaster, Romanian Television (TVR), of vote rigging. The Eurovision Song Contest 2004 was the 49th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Istanbul, Turkey, following the country's victory at the with the song "Everyway That I Can" by Sertab Erener. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT), the contest was held at the Abdi İpekçi Arena, and, for the first time, consisted of a semi-final on 12 May, and a final on 15 May 2004.
