Formula Vee was first introduced at the Runoffs in 1964 at Riverside International Raceway. The first edition was won by Lewis Kerr. The following decades saw many racing drivers compete in various different racing chassis. Michael Varacins is the most successful driver in the class winning seven times, at five different tracks. Road America
Road America is a motorsport road course located near Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, United States on Wisconsin Highway 67. It has hosted races since the 1950s and currently hosts races in the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series, WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, IndyCar Series, SCCA Pirelli World Challenge, ASRA, AMA Superbike series, and SCCA Pro Racing's Trans-Am Series. Daytona International Speedway
Daytona International Speedway is a race track in Daytona Beach, Florida, United States. Virginia International Raceway
Virginia International Raceway (commonly known as "VIR") is a race track located in Alton, Virginia, near Danville. It is less than a half-mile from the North Carolina/Virginia border just outside Milton, North Carolina, on the banks of the Dan River. VIR hosts amateur and professional automobile and motorcycle events, driving schools, club days, and private test rentals. Heartland Motorsports Park, formerly known as Heartland Park Topeka, is a multi-purpose motorsports facility south of downtown Topeka, Kansas near the Topeka Regional Airport. When it opened in 1989, Heartland Motorsports Park was the first new auto racing facility to be built in the United States for 20 years. Its facilities include a road-race course with 4 possible configurations (ranging from to in length), a ⅜ mile clay oval, off-road course and a ¼ mile drag strip. After several years of neglect from continual financial difficulties, the track surface and other facilities had deteriorated badly. Jaques Lazier
Jaques Lazier (born January 25, 1971) is an American former race car driver. He is the younger brother of 1996 Indianapolis 500 champion Buddy Lazier and son of former Indy racer Bob Lazier. Racing career The younger Lazier ran in U.S. Formula Ford competition from 1989 to 1997 and also drove part-time in Indy Lights in 1997. In 1998, he made his first attempt at the Indianapolis 500 in a car owned by Price Cobb but failed to qualify. He planned to join the IRL IndyCar Series full-time in 1999 for his own team but failed to qualify for races at both the Phoenix International Raceway and at the Indy 500. He moved to the new Truscelli Team Racing the week after the Indy 500 and made his first start at Texas Motor Speedway. He finished 7th three times late in the season. He made his first Indy 500 start in 2000 for Truscelli although the team shut down later that season, again leaving Lazier without a ride. Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is a road course auto racing facility located in Troy Township, Morrow County, Ohio, United States, just outside the village of Lexington. Harry MacDonald (racing Driver)
Harry MacDonald (born September 27, 1940) is a retired Canadian racing driver. He raced in the UK Formula Super Vee series from 1977 to 1979 and in 1978 won a race at Texas World Speedway and finished third in the championship. In 1981 he attempted to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 but failed to do so, then competed in the United States Auto Club, USAC "Gold Crown" Championship Car race at Pocono Raceway where he finished 5th in a field of very few top drivers, then competed in the Champ Car, CART race at Michigan International Speedway and finished 21st after an engine failure. He resurfaced in 1983 to attempt to qualify for the Indy 500 but again failed to do so. MacDonald was born in Windsor, Ontario. He was a lawyer by trade and ran a law firm in his hometown of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Road Atlanta (known for sponsorship reasons as Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta) is a road course located just north of Braselton, Georgia, United States.
