Formula Continental
Formula Continental is a single seater, open wheel racing class in motorsport. It replaced Formula C as an SCCA racing class. Most Formula Continental's are Formula Ford 2000 (FF2000) models, which is a flat bottomed, steel tube frame open wheel car with smaller wings and a 2-litre engine derived from the steel blocked Ford Pinto, Ford Zetec, or Mazda MZR engines. David Pook (racing Driver)
David Charles Pook (born 16 January 1955) is an English former professional footballer. He was manager of Western League club Torrington until June 2007. Pook was born in Plymouth and began his career as an apprentice with Bristol City. He moved to Torquay United during his apprenticeship and made his league debut while still an apprentice, as a substitute in the 1–1 draw at home to Bolton Wanderers on the final day of the 1971–72 season which by that time had already seen Torquay relegated to the Fourth Division. Pook played a number of times for Torquay before turning professional in January 1973, but left at the end of the season to join Plymouth Argyle. However, he left Argyle after just three months due to a serious injury. After six months out of the game, Pook moved to France to play for Morlaix where he spent two years before returning to England. Van Diemen International, Ltd. was a British race car manufacturer based in Snetterton, Norfolk, United Kingdom. The company had a reputation for high-volume production runs of its cars, the most well-known of which is its series of Formula Ford chassis, which have been at the forefront of that class of motorsport for over 20 years and led it to becoming the largest manufacturer of bespoke racing cars in the world. As well as Formula Ford, Van Diemen built cars for Formula Ford 2000, Sports 2000 and Star Mazda series. Sam Schmidt
Samuel Schmidt (born August 15, 1964) is a former Indy Racing League driver and current NTT IndyCar Series and Indy Lights series team owner. Schmidt's brief IndyCar career included a win in 1999, but an accident before the 2000 season left him a quadriplegic. Schmidt is currently co-owner of the Arrow McLaren SP IndyCar team. Racing career After graduating from Pepperdine University, Schmidt became a successful businessman, eventually purchasing his father's parts company in 1989 at the age of 25. Swift Engineering Inc. is an American spacecraft engineering firm that builds autonomous systems, helicopters, submarines, spacecraft, ground vehicles, robotics, and composite parts.
