Formation Z
is a 1984 horizontally scrolling shooter developed and published by Jaleco. The arcade release was distributed by Williams and known as ''Aeroboto'' outside Japan. It was later ported to the MSX and to the Famicom (by Hect), the latter being included as part of ''Jaleco Collection Vol. 1'' for the PlayStation. More recently the Famicom version of the game was made downloadable via the Wii's Virtual Console download service in Japan. Plot Taking place in the year 2701, a robot named Ixpel which can transform into an aero fighter is sent on a mission to stop an alien super weapon from reaching the Earth. Gameplay The player controls a robot with the capability to transform into a jet fighter. The robot may move forwards, backwards and jump but cannot fly, and the fighter may travel anywhere on screen but has limited fuel in which to do so. Jaleco
was a corporate brand name that was used by two previously connected video game developers and publishers based in Japan. The original Jaleco company was founded in 1974 as Japan Leisure Company, founded by Yoshiaki Kanazawa, before being renamed to simply Jaleco in the early 1980s. This company was later acquired in 2000 by PCCW, who rebranded it as their Japanese game division, PCCW Japan, before reverting it to Jaleco in 2002. In 2006, Jaleco became independent from PCCW and renamed to Jaleco Holding, having their video game operations spun off into a new company, also called Jaleco. This new spin-off company was sold to mobile developer Game Yarou in 2009, with Jaleco Holding renaming itself to Encom Holdings shortly after. A virtual console (VC) – also known as a virtual terminal (VT) – is a conceptual combination of the keyboard and display for a computer user interface. Nintendo Switch Games
The Nintendo Switch is a video game console developed by Nintendo, for which games are released both in physical and digital formats. Physical games are sold on cartridges that slot into the Switch console unit. Digital games are purchased through the Nintendo eShop and stored either in the Switch's internal 32 GB of storage (64 GB in the OLED version) or on a microSDXC card. The Switch has no regional lockout features, freely allowing games from any region to be played on any system, with the exception of Chinese game cards released by Tencent that play only on consoles distributed by Tencent. Nintendo EShop
The Nintendo eShop is a digital distribution service powered by the Nintendo Network for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, and by a dedicated online infrastructure for the Nintendo Switch. Launched in June 2011 on the Nintendo 3DS, the eShop was enabled by the release of a system update that added the functionality to the Nintendo 3DS's HOME Menu. It is the successor to both the Wii Shop Channel and DSi Shop. Unlike on the Nintendo 3DS, the eShop was made available on the launch date of the Wii U, although a system update is required in order to access it.
