"Forever Your Girl" is a song recorded by American singer-choreographer Paula Abdul for her 1988 Forever Your Girl, eponymous debut studio album. Written and produced by Ta Mara and the Seen, Oliver Leiber, who also produced her previous single "(It's Just) The Way That You Love Me, (It's Just) The Way that You Love Me", the single version was released on February 20, 1989, by Virgin Records. Following the unexpected success of "Straight Up (Paula Abdul song), Straight Up", the song continued Abdul's newfound commercial success, becoming her second chart-topper on the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100 for two consecutive weeks. Paula Julie Abdul (born June 19, 1962) is an American singer, dancer, choreographer, actress, and television personality. She began her career as a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Lakers at the age of 18 and later became the head choreographer for the Laker Girls, where she was discovered by The Jacksons. After choreographing music videos for Janet Jackson, Abdul became a choreographer at the height of the music video era and soon thereafter she was signed to Virgin Records.
