The Forestry Commission is a Government of Ghana agency under the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources. Government Of Ghana
The Government of Ghana was created as a parliamentary democracy, followed by alternating military and civilian governments in Ghana. In January 1993, military government gave way to the Fourth Republic after presidential and parliamentary elections in late 1992. The 1992 constitution divides powers among a president, parliament, cabinet, council of state, and an independent judiciary. The government is elected by universal suffrage. Government Political parties became legal in mid-1992 after a ten-year hiatus. There are more than 20 registered political parties under the Fourth Republic. The two main parties are the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party. Nii Ashie Kotey
Emmanuel Nii Ashie Kotey (born 2 October 1953) is a Ghanaian judge and academic. He has been a Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana since his appointment in 2018. Kotey was born in Osu, a suburb of Accra. After obtaining his LL.M and Ph.D. from the University of London, he enrolled at the Ghana School of Law and was subsequently called to the bar after completing his studies in 1982. He has been a lecturer of the University of Ghana from 1981 until his appointment to the Supreme Court of Ghana bench on 2018. While at the university, he served as the Dean of the university's Faculty of Law and acting director of the Ghana School of Law. He also served as the Chief Executive of the Forestry Commission of Ghana from 2007 to 2009. He was a visiting scholar in the United States of America, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie
Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie (popularly known as Sir John) (1957 – 1 July 2020) was a Ghanaian lawyer and politician. He held several political positions including serving as general secretary of the New Patriotic Party. He was serving as the chief executive officer of Forestry Commission of Ghana before his demise. Early life and education Kojo Afriyie was born in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He attended Seventh Day Adventist Secondary School in Bekwai from where he obtained his GCE Ordinary level certificate. He proceeded to obtain his GCE Advanced level certificate from Konongo Odumase Secondary School in Konongo. He was admitted to study political science at the University of Ghana. He then enrolled at the Ghana School of Law where he graduated with Bachelor of Laws. After this he was admitted as a solicitor and counsel for the Supreme Court of Ghana.
