Forest Lake is a suburb of Hamilton in New Zealand and was added to from around the 1930s. It is centred around Forest Lake Road, which is used by around 10,000 vehicles a day. For quite a long time there was swamp in a large part and this has now been drained but Lake Rotokaeo remains and the ground remains quite damp in parts. Forest Lakes is a small unincorporated community in Coconino County in the northern part of the U.S. state of Arizona. It is located on the edge of the Mogollon Rim and is in close proximity to several recreational lakes within the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, and is named for such. Forest Lake is a city in Washington County, Minnesota, United States, located 27 miles northeast of Saint Paul. The population was 20,611 at the 2020 census. The 2021 population is 20,608. History Forest Lake began as a stop on the St. Paul and Duluth Railroad. The first train reached Forest Lake on December 23, 1868. The lake was so named for the abundant timber that lines its shores. Forest Lake Camp (FLC) is a summer camp located just north of Lake George, in the Southern Adirondack Mountains of New York. History "Forest Lake Camp for Boys" was opened as a boys-only camp in 1926 by Harold T. Confer, who was the athletic director at Freeport, New York, High School on Long Island. One year before the camp opened, he had bought over of land around Forest Lake. In the property were a farmhouse and an inn that are still there to this day. The land was originally crossed by an old stagecoach route from Chestertown, New York, to Saratoga Springs, New York. By 1954 Harold Confer's son Philip began running the camp alongside his wife, Sally. The couple ran the camp for 32 years. During this time, they bought over 200 additional acres on the other side of the lake, thus acquiring all the land surrounding the lake. In 1984 Philip's son Gary took over the camp. Forest Lake Resort was a resort in the Cobb Mountain area of Lake County, California, in an area of wet meadows along Kelsey Creek. Originally a campground, it was developed into a resort in the 1930s to exploit the growing automobile-based recreation market. The resort was sold in 1963.
