The Government of Senegal is the union government created by the constitution of Senegal, consisting of the executive, parliament, and judiciary. The Seat of the Government is located in Dakar. The government is led by the president (currently Macky Sall). Executive branch The president is elected by popular vote for a five-year term. The Council of Ministers is appointed by the president. The 2001 constitution introduced a two-term limit for the president; a March 2016 referendum restored the presidential term to five years from seven. Amadou Ba (born 17 May 1961) is a Senegalese politician. He was appointed prime minister of Senegal on 17 September 2022. He served as the Foreign Minister of Senegal from 2019–2020. He was Minister of Finance and Economy from 2013–2019. Ba was cited as one of the Top 100 most influential Africans by New African magazine in 2011, 2012 and 2013. Early life and education After achieving a technical baccalauréat in management in 1980, Ba received a master's degree in economic science, focusing on corporate management and a diploma of taxes and estates from the National School of Administration and Magistrature (ENAM) in 1988. Sidiki Kaba (born 21 August 1950 in Tambacounda, Senegal), is a Senegalese politician currently serving in the fourth Sall government. He is the keeper of the seals and the Minister of Justice of Senegal since 2013. On 8 December 2014, he was elected as President of the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court as consensus candidate from the African States Parties and endorsed by the Bureau of the Assembly. Alioune Badara Cissé (7 February 1958 – 28 August 2021) was a Senegalese politician. A member of the Alliance for the Republic (APR), he served as Foreign Minister of Senegal from 4 April to 29 October 2012. Biography Born in Saint-Louis on 7 February 1958, Cissé passed his primary studies in his native city. He studied foreign language application in English and Spanish at Cheikh Anta Diop University and graduated in 1980. He then studied at Jean Monnet University and the Institut d'études politiques de Toulouse. In 1988, Cissé returned to Senegal and was admitted to the Dakar Bar, becoming a lawyer in 1992.
