Ford County (county code FO) is a county located in the U.S. state of Kansas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 34,287. Its county seat and most populous city is Dodge City. US 56
U.S. Route 56 (US 56) is an east–west United States highway that runs for approximately in the Midwestern United States. US 56's western terminus is at Interstate 25 Business (I-25 Bus.), US 412 and New Mexico State Road 21 (NM 21) in Springer, New Mexico and the highway's eastern terminus is at US 71 in Kansas City, Missouri. K-34 (Kansas Highway)
K-34 is a state highway in southwestern Kansas that runs from U.S. Route 160 (US-160) and US-183 near Ashland to US-400 near Bucklin. It is one of the lesser-traveled highways in the state and is not part of the National Highway System. It is a two-lane road for its entire length. K-34 was originally designated in southeastern Kansas, running through Neodesha. The designation was moved to southwestern Kansas in 1937, replacing the old K-41 designation. The highway formerly ran to the Oklahoma border via a concurrency with US-183. The designation was shortened in 1993 to its current routing.
