The Force India VJM09 is a Formula One auto racing, racing car designed by Force India to compete in the 2016 Formula One season. The car was driven by 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans, Le Mans winner Nico Hülkenberg and Sergio Pérez, and used the Mercedes PU106-Type Hybrid, Mercedes PU106C Hybrid power unit. The VJM09 scored a notable podium at the 2016 Monaco Grand Prix, Monaco Grand Prix where Pérez finished third and Hülkenberg sixth. It was the first time the team had scored a podium at Monaco in any guise (i.e. Jordan Grand Prix, Jordan, Midland F1 Racing, Midland, Spyker F1, Spyker or Force India). The 2016 European Grand Prix (formally known as the 2016 Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe) was a Formula One motor race that was held on 19 June 2016 at the Baku City Circuit in Baku, Azerbaijan. The race was the eighth round of the 2016 season, and marked the twenty-third running of the European Grand Prix as a round of the Formula One World Championship. The Spyker F1 Team, known as the Etihad Aldar Spyker F1 Team for sponsorship reasons, was a Formula One team that competed in the 2007 Formula One World Championship with a Dutch licence. It was created by Spyker Cars after their buyout of the short-lived Midland F1 (formerly Jordan Grand Prix) team. Midland F1 Racing (also known as MF1 Racing, or simply "Midland") was a Formula One constructor and racing team which competed in the 2006 Formula One season with drivers Christijan Albers and Tiago Monteiro. Jordan Grand Prix was a Formula One constructor that competed from 1991 to 2005. The team was named after Irish businessman and founder Eddie Jordan. The team was based at Silverstone, UK but raced with an Irish licence. The 83rd 24 Hours of Le Mans (french: link=no, 83e 24 Heures du Mans) was an 24-hour automobile endurance event for Le Mans Prototype and Le Mans Grand Touring Endurance cars held from 10 to 14 June 2015 at the Circuit de la Sarthe, close to Le Mans, France.
