''For the Birds'' (stylized as ''for the birds'') is a 2000 American computer-animated short film produced by Pixar and written and directed by Ralph Eggleston. It won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 2001. It premiered on June 5, 2000, at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France, and was shown alongside the theatrical release of the 2001 Disney/Pixar feature film '' Monsters, Inc.'' It is also available on home video versions of the film. In 2012, the short was re-rendered into 3D, and it was theatrically re-released alongside the 3D re-release of '' Monsters, Inc.'' The short was also released in 3D on '' Monsters, Inc.'' Blu-ray 3D, on February 19, 2013. ''For the Birds'' is the fourth studio album by Dublin based band The Frames. The album was first released in Ireland on 2 April 2001 on Plateau Records, the Frames' own indie label. The band's line-up for this album featured Glen Hansard on guitar and vocals, Colm Mac Con Iomaire on violin, Joseph Doyle on bass guitar and backing vocals, Dave Odlum on lead guitar and Dave Hingerty on drums. According to the album notes, recording took place in a wide variety of places: "recorded by Steve Albini, Craig Ward and David Odlum at ''Electrical Audio'', Chicago and in Ventry, Kerry at Joan's house with additional recording and mixing at various bedrooms and houses including ''Black Box'', La Dionae France, Trevor Hutchinson's, Mic Christopher's and Mrs Odlums." Asimov agreed, and wrote the story in November 1978. It was accepted, but the proposed magazine never appeared, and Asimov sold the story to '' Asimov's Science Fiction''. "For the Birds" is a short story by Stephen King. It was originally published in 1986 as part of the short story collection ''Bred Any Good Rooks Lately?''. Plot summary "For the Birds" is a one-page "science fiction joke". The story takes place in 1995, where pollution has resulted in the rooks that live in London dying off. Concerned that this will impact on tourism, the London City Council looks to source replacement rooks from a place with a similar climate until the pollution problem can be resolved. The Council appoints an ornithologist and sends him to Bangor, Maine where he begins incubating rooks. Impatient to see progress, the Council sends the ornithologist a daily telegram reading "Bred any good rooks lately?" ''Become What You Are'' is the debut studio album by the American alternative rock band the Juliana Hatfield Three, released on August 3, 1993, by Mammoth Records. The album includes the hit singles " My Sister" and "Spin the Bottle". Recording and release The band's singer and guitarist, Juliana Hatfield, recorded ''Become What You Are'' with drummer Todd Philips, formerly of Moving Targets and Bullet LaVolta, and bassist Dean Fisher, who she met during high school in Duxbury, Massachusetts. Unlike her previous album ''Hey Babe'', which deals with personal topics, Hatfield decided to write songs about other things and make them more universal. The title of the album was inspired by German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, whom Hatfield admired.
