For Today (band)
For Today was an American Christian metalcore band from Sioux City, Iowa, formed in 2005. They released two EPs, ''Your Moment, Your Life, Your Time'' and ''Prevailer'', and six full-length albums: '' Ekklesia'' in, 2008, ''Portraits'' in 2009, ''Breaker'' in 2010, ''Immortal'' in 2012, ''Fight the Silence'' in 2014, and '' Wake'' in 2015. The band split up in 2016. History For Today was founded in 2005 by Ryan Leitru, Mike Reynolds, David Morrison, and Jon Lauters. Lauters and vocalist Matt Tyler, who joined the band shortly after its formation, (who later became known as Madison Skylights) left the band soon after, and were replaced by Mattie Montgomery (formerly of Besieged) and Brennan Schaeuble. Schaeuble was replaced by Ryan's brother Brandon. Mattie Montgomery
Mattie Montgomery is an American musician and the former lead vocalist and frontman of Christian metal band For Today from 2007. He released six albums and one EP with the band before they broke up in 2016. In addition to his work with For Today, Montgomery has his own solo gospel project named after himself in which he has released three albums and two books. He now pastors a church, The Altar Fellowship, in Johnson City, Tennessee. Music career Montgomery began his involvement in music at the age of fifteen, where he has stated he listened to bands such as Senses Fail and A Static Lullaby. Groups such as these opened the door to heavier bands that would inspire Montgomery to try heavy vocals and screams in his singing. Besieged (band)
Besieged is a Christian metal band from Saginaw and Bay City, Michigan. The band was formed by drummer Josh Schroeder, the only member in every line-up, who later became a producer and has recorded albums for Those Who Fear, A Plea for Purging, and The Burial. Former vocalist Mattie Montgomery left to join the band For Today in 2007. The band was supposed to do a Super Mario Bros. 3 cover for the game, but it is uncertain if that happened or not. The band played on the Blood and Ink Fest, along with, xLooking Forwardx, Burden of a Day, and Saints Never Surrender. History Besieged was formed by drummer Josh Schroeder, guitarists, Josh Keef and Andrew Rick, bassist Paul Stotts, and vocalist Freddie Willbanks in 2004. The Crimson Armada
The Crimson Armada was an American metalcore band formed in Westerville, Ohio in 2007 by Kyle Barrington and David Puckett. Following a one-year hiatus in 2008, the band returned to increased popularity, releasing its first EP, ''Behold the Architect''. Following the release of ''Behold the Architect'', the Crimson Armada signed a record deal with Metal Blade Records. In July 2009, the band released its debut album, '' Guardians''. Following the album's release, the band went on several tours with acts such as the Chariot, and MyChildren MyBride. In mid-2010 the group headed out on the Scream the Prayer Tour. Make Me Famous were a Ukrainian metalcore band. They were founded by lead guitarist and co-vocalist Denis Shaforostov, who gained popularity through his YouTube channel "above92", and songwriter/guitarist Jimmy X Rose. They released one EP and one studio album, titled '' It's Now or Never''. History Formation and ''Keep This in Your Music Player'' (2010–2011) The band formed in 2010 after Denis Shaforostov uploaded his songs for videos on YouTube. He then recruited bassist Sergei Hohlov to create original music.
