''Footskating 101'' is an independently produced, South African comedy film. Plot In order to save his grandmother, his town, and his own skin, Vince, a poor miner's son, takes part in a skateboarding competition without a skateboard. He invents the extreme sport of footskating. Production The film was independently produced. Rob Van Vuuren
Robert Craig Jansen van Vuuren (born 26 March 1976) is a South African comedian, actor, presenter, theatre maker, and writer. Early life Van Vuuren was born in Port Elizabeth. He completed his matriculation at Maritzburg College before going on to graduate with a degree in Drama from Rhodes University in 1997. During university, he joined the First Physical Theatre Company. Career Van Vuuren began his career in theatre, receiving Vita and Fleur du Cap Theatre Award nominations for his roles in the productions '' Birdy'' and ''The Beauty Queen of Leenane'' respectively. Forming a comedy and creative duo with Louw Venter, van Vuuren produced and played Twakkie in YouTube videos and later in the SABC2 sketch comedy series ''The Most Amazing Show'' from 2006 to 2007. John Vlismas (born 13 May 1973) is a South African stand-up comedian and entertainment promoter. Vlismas won the 2007 South African Comedy Award for best stand-up comedian of the year and was a finalist in the 2008 Yuk Yuk's Great Canadian Laugh Off. Brett Goldin
Brett Goldin (21 October 1977 – 16 April 2006) was a South African actor and part of the Crazy Monkey comedy troupe. Goldin was murdered in Cape Town in 2006 alongside friend Richard Bloom, a fashion designer who was a label manager for the Maze clothing company in Cape Town. Early life Goldin was the son of Peter and Denise Goldin and had one sibling, his sister Samantha. He was educated at the King David School in Victory Park, Johannesburg and at Crawford College, Sandton. He was a student of the University of Cape Town Drama Department from 1997 to 2000. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Drama, and subsequently completed a Performer's Diploma in Speech and Drama.
