The Football Sri Lanka (FSL) is the governing body of football in Sri Lanka. It operates the Sri Lanka national football team and Sri Lanka Football Premier League. History Football Sri Lanka was founded on 1939 as Ceylon Football Association, later rechristened as Football Federation of Sri Lanka in 1972. FSL affiliated with FIFA in 1952. FSL affiliated with Asian Football Confederation in 1954 & FFSL was founding member of South Asian Football Federation which was founded in 1997. The Sri Lanka national football team ( si, ශ්‍රී ලංකා පාපන්දු කණ්ඩායම, ta, இலங்கை தேசிய கால்பந்து அணி) represents Sri Lanka in Association football and is administered by Football Sri Lanka, the governing body of football in Sri Lanka. They have been a member of FIFA since 1952 and a member of AFC since 1954. Sri Lanka's home stadium is the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo. Bangabandhu Cup
The Bangabandhu Cup, also known as the Bangabandhu Gold Cup, is an international football tournament organised by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) as a tribute to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who is the founding father of Bangladesh. It has been played sporadically since 1996, and was resurrected in 2015. Up to the 2016 edition, most of the participating countries in the tournament sent their youth national teams, their second teams or club sides. Cricket is the most popular sport in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is one of the twelve nations that take part in Test cricket and one of the six nations that has won a cricket World Cup. Cricket is played at professional, semi-professional and recreational levels in the country and international cricket matches are watched with interest by a large proportion of the population. Sri Lanka Champions League
The S1 League ( si, එස්1 ලීගය; ta, எஸ்1 லீக்), or simply S1, also known as Sri Lanka Champions League, is the second tier division of the Sri Lankan football league system and was succeeded by the professional Sri Lanka Super League which serves as the first division. Until 2019 it was sponsored by Dialog Axiata and was thus officially known as the Dialog Champions League. The league was conducted in various formats.
